Bónus, the new EP from prolific Detroit techno producer, Rebecca Goldberg includes 3 brand new acid tracks on the A side plus 3 remixes from mainstay Icelandic producers $leazy, Andartak and Thiz.One on the B side.

Goldberg released the A1 first single, Bleikur, a fast-paced 909/303 workout, over 3/03 weekend to coincide with her appearance on HÖR and debut DJ set at the world renowned Berlin techno club, Berghain. The single release was accompanied by a music video created by Georgian photographer Nina Nayko.

The A2 title track, Bónus, waxes squelchy and post-apocalyptic, while the A3 inside track, N.A.O., blends intricate layers of synths and drum patterns creating a dream-like experience. N.A.O. is an acronym for North Atlantic Ocean, Goldberg’s muse.

In addition to her original tracks, for the B side Rebecca enlisted the help of three producers from the North to provide their own unique takes on Bleikur (it means Pink in Icelandic).

Recorded live in front of a limited audience, the 8-tracks highlight the beauty in the songcraft and purity of Daigle vocal prowess. Sessions includes her rendition of Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful,” two new versions of her recently Gold Certified hit “Thank God I Do,” her current radio single, “Be Okay” and the first new recording of her 6x Platinum smash “You Say.”
Daigle recently wrapped the long-awaited European Leg of The Kaleidoscope Nights Tour including sold out performances in London, Manchester, and Amsterdam. The tour will make its debut in the US on July 29th in Columbus, OH with stops in Amphitheaters across the states including Brandon, MS, Colorado Springs, CO, and Santa Barbara, CA before wrapping September 5th in Honolulu, HI. Underground hip-hop veterans, Dillon and Batsauce have been making unorthodox rap music together for nearly 20 years with a simple formula: Batsauce makes the beats, Dillon writes the songs, and whatever happens, happens. After carving out their own lane with a catalog of EPs and LPs over the past 2 decades, the duo has finally slowed down enough to ask themselves, 'What Have We Done'?
Is the title of their latest effort rhetorical or meant to be an actual question? If so, Dillon and Batsauce probably don't want to know the answer. They probably don't want you, the listener, to think too much about it either. Instead, 'What Have We Done' is an invitation to experience the trials and tribulations, the small wins and the big losses of being aging independent artists in an increasingly cut-throat world for music makers.
But Dillon & Batsauce aren't the only ones on this joyride, we also hear from a well-curated crew of characters they've befriended along the way, from bonafide legends like Grand Puba and Kool Keith to modern day rap heroes, Quelle Chris & Reef the Lost Cauze. The end result is a collection of songs that runs the gamut from personal to aspirational to...delusional. Whether it's 'too much' or 'not enough', the answer to the question, 'What Have We Done' remains open to interpretation. Coloured vinyl repress of Penguin Cafe album Rain Before Seven… A sense of optimism infuses Penguin Cafe’s fifth studio album, not the braggadocious, overconfident kind, but more a blithe, self-effacing optimism in keeping with the national character. Even when all signs point to the contrary, it operates within the certainty that things are going to be alright. Probably.

The title comes from an old weather proverb with the rhyming prognostication — fine before eleven — hinting at a happy ending, irrespective of the science: “I found it in a book and I'd never heard it before,” says Arthur Jeffes, leader of Penguin Cafe. “It has faintly optimistic overtones and I quite like it. It's fallen out of usage recently but it does describe English weather patterns coming in off the Atlantic.”

From the widescreen reverie of opener ‘Welcome to London’ with its cheeky nod to Morricone to ‘Goldfinch Yodel’, the self-described “Maypole banger” at the denouement, there’s a welcome sense of sanguinity, always with an undercurrent of exotic rhythmic exuberance. Playfulness pervades, with a titular nod to A Matter of Life... from 2011, the last album title that concluded with an ellipsis. That Penguin Cafe debut is the bridge between the legendary Penguin Cafe Orchestra, led by Arthur’s father Simon Jeffes, and the much- loved descendent, led by Arthur.

“Stylistically it's really satisfying to get back to playful rhythms and instruments,” says the younger Jeffes, who kept the group’s debut from 12 years ago in mind when writing the new album. “Certainly when starting out, I became aware that we’d stopped using quite a few of the textures that had been there at the beginning—and it was certainly there in my dad's earlier stuff. So there's a lot of balafon and textures from completely different parts of the world, musically and geographically: ukuleles, cuatros and melodicas that you can hear.”

Encouraged by co-producer Robert Raths, the rhythmic elements of Rain Before Seven... have never been more to the fore and, at times, even hint at the electronic. ‘Find Your Feet’, for instance, is underpinned with more than just a pulse. Mixed by Tom Chichester-Clark, it brings to the musical melange what Arthur describes as a “near electronic feel”. He adds, excitedly: “There are elements of fun here which we haven't really done with the last three records.” Another ebullient highlight is ‘In Re Budd’, dedicated to the late ambient godfather Harold Budd, who Arthur discovered had died on the day he’d been writing the celebratory ear worm with a deceptively tricky syncopation. Played on an upright piano with some “prepared” felt to accentuate the bounce, Jeffes feels a track with an Afro Cuban Cafe vibe would appeal to Budd’s contrariness.

Stefan Ringer serves up his finest ATL house bounce on this stellar link up with Jazz musician and fellow ATLien Marquinn Mason, pushing their sound into new unchartered territories. Journeying through House, Broken Beat and even a lil' Latin Jazz, the two talents compliment each others styles beautifully. The EP joyfully creates a new dynamic, without skipping a groove or missing a beat. Impossible to ignore on Stefan’s step by step instructional call to the dance floor on title track ‘Bounce Lesson’, a definite delight for the dancers. That bounce then rattles through the EP’s other two tracks ‘alltogethernow’ and ‘Lead Walk', where the grooves get even looser, deeper and more bugged out.

For those unfamiliar, Stefan Ringer is a pillar of Atlanta's electronic music scene and is a long time collaborator with house music OG and NDATL label boss Kai Alcé as well as with Ash Lauryn and Ben Hixon. Under his previous Rekchampa moniker he has released a number of classic EP’s through the infamous Peoples Potential Unlimited label.

Barbara Lynn is a singer, songwriter and musician from a golden era of soul. While she is best known commercially for 'You'll Lose A Good Thing' (1962) there is so much more to her repertoire across ten albums (including 'You're Losing Me' from her Atlantic years classic album 'Here Is Barbara Lynn') and the 7' single 'Movin' On A Groove' remains her most sought after. It's a modern soul indemand anthem, first released in 1976, original copies have exchanged hands for £300. And the now the funkier flip side 'Disco Music' has become indemand in it's own right, this 7' reuniting the two sides as a very strong 45 release for DJs and collectors alike.

Atlantic records impresario Jerry Wexler had many strings to his bow, but undoubtedly his greatest stroke of genius was leading Aretha towards the Fame Studios in 1967 to conduct her first sessions for the label. A lady with many quite uneven Columbia albums to her name would turn the world of soul music upside down and reveal the Queen of Soul to the world. The music created was both harrowing and spine-chilling in equal measure, leaving everyone in its radius in a state of soulful euphoria.

“Can” was recorded during the ‘Hey Now Hey’ LA album sessions circa 1972, with Quincy Jones at the helm, and is a scintillating slow burner of exquisite beauty.
“I’m Trying” is a glorious 1969/70 outtake from her ‘Spirit in the Dark’ LP, cut at Criteria with Wexler and the MSS boys in tow.
A friend of mine recently alluded that you sometimes don’t realise the true greatness of a track until it is embossed in 7” vinyl. So true!

Their eclectic blend of J-rock, indie-rock and pop-punk resonates with high-energy riffs, catchy melodies and clever lyricism.

Destiny is the 1996 studio album by Cuban-American singer Gloria Estefan. It features a more ambient sound compared to her previous albums and includes the singles ""Reach"", ""You'll Be Mine (Party Time)"", ""I'm Not Giving You Up"" and ""Show Me The Way Back To Your Heart"". The single ""Reach"" became a hit around the world and was the official theme of the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Destiny was certified Platinum in the US, double Platinum in Spain, and achieved Gold certification in four other countries. The album charted well in the US, Spain, UK and Norway among others. Destiny is being reissued for the first time since its original release in 1996 and is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on crystal clear vinyl, including an insert.

Footnotes continues its busy 2024 with a collaboration that crosses the Atlantic and has been years in the making. ‘All my Life’ brings together 2 of the finest MC’s in Drum and Bass set against the backdrop of LSB’s unique take on Liquid Funk.

All my Life see’s T.R.A.C. rapping out the joys of being a record collector in his whilst and Stamina sings about how he’s been searching for this all his life, a love song where music itself is the protagonist.

The B Side Vibe follow a similar theme but rather than about the love of collecting music they trade bars about the love of performing over subtle beats and lush string samples.

The nostalgic feel as well as the theme of both records suited a return to the more traditional single format with an A & B side and a single 45 rpm 12″ Vinyl. DJ support includes Lenzman, Workforce and many more

In the midst of House music's burgeoning scene in 1986 Chicago, a young local DJ named Jonathan Gilbert, known as Scrappy, seized a golden opportunity to showcase his skills at the renowned Medusa's Club's video room. It was in 1987, one fateful night, when the main DJ failed to show up, that Gilbert stepped in, securing a residency at one of the city's hottest spots. As the year progressed, Gilbert ventured into music production, teaming up with The Boxx Boys--Jim Marcus and Van Christie, notable for their later formation of the iconic group Die Warzau. Their collaboration birthed the legendary acid house anthem from Chicago, "Freeze," which Gilbert released under his Zap Records label in 1988, solidifying his place in Chicago's music history. The track became a timeless favorite, and is often featured in Jerome Derradji's sets. With Scrappy's gracious consent, we have the privilege of reissuing this seminal track, along with delving into his archives to uncover previously unreleased gems and alternate versions from his Atlantic Records era around 1990. For a brief period, Scrappy rode the waves of Chicago's house scene with his distinctive flair before bidding farewell to pursue new horizons in California. Presented for the first time on Still Music, "Acid House + Medusa's - Chicago, 1987-1992" invites listeners on a journey through the vibrant tapestry of late-eighties Chicago House. DJing, indulgence, romance, and the pulsating beats of acid house defined Scrappy's era, and fortunately, he left behind a legacy of unforgettable house tunes, emblematic of the city's unparalleled musical spirit. This limited edition DLP release, accompanied by an insert detailing the captivating tale of one of Chicago's unsung talents, ensures that Scrappy's story and his contribution to the era remain etched in musical history.

‘Danse Cette Zik!’ by Parbleu is the debut LP from this enigmatic group of musicians and is a multi-cultural fever dream, wherein energized expanses of dynamic disco, futuristic funk, and cinematic jazz fusion are colored over by warming vibes of Caribbean dub, Latin tropicalia, and sunshine Afrobeat. Evocative instrumentals intertwine with breathtaking vocal performances, which move between sleepy-eyed soul serenades, mystical melodic chants, and expressive diva enchantments while pads swell in support—sometimes sparkling like ocean glass, other times raining down like a Morricone symphony.

Pianos and guitars converse via funk flourishes, reggae riffs, and jazz rock solos as blazing fusion synthesizers set the air aflame. In 1971, Atlantic Records released a pair of Dusty Springfield singles produced by the legendary songwriter/producer Jeff Barry (one-time songwriting and romantic partner of Ellie Greenwich, and author of too many hits to name): “Haunted”/”Nothing Is Forever” and “I Believe In You”/”Someone Who Cares.” A restless Dusty, freshly relocating to America from her native England, then departed the label and left an additional 9 songs recorded with Barry in the can, where they stayed until Rhino issued one track, “Faithful” (in mono), as a bonus track on the 1990s CD release of Dusty’s 1970 Atlantic album A Brand New Me. The other tracks didn’t surface until a subsequent deluxe reissue of Dusty’s landmark 1969 album Dusty in Memphis included them as bonus cuts.

Then, reissue producer Jim Pierson—who tracked down the missing masters after being lost for over two decades —assembled Dusty’s Barry-produced masters and put them together in a single package for the first time to create the third Dusty Springfield Atlantic Records album as planned in 1971. Real Gone Music’s release of Faithful on LP presents these historic Barry-Springfield collaborations exactly as they were originally intended to be heard, with the 12 tracks meant for the album release out on vinyl over 50 years later. All tracks are in stereo, while the liner notes on the new gatefold spread, penned by The Second Disc’s Joe Marchese, feature a number of rarely-seen photos of the legendary singer. These stunning pop, soul and gospel flavored selections showcase the iconic singer at the height of her vocal magic. A missing/ jumbled part of Dusty’s august recorded legacy, finally set right and available in its intended format. Out on metallic gold and purple “royalty” vinyl as befitting The Queen of Blue-Eyed Soul…limited to 1500 copies!

MANOWAR is an American heavy metal band from Auburn, New York. Formed in 1980, the band is known for lyrics based on fantasy and mythology . The band is also known for a Loud and Bombastic sound. In 1984 the band was included in the Guinness Book of World Records for delivering the loudest performance, a record which they have since broken on two occasions. They also hold the world record for the longest heavy metal concert after playing for five hours and 1 minute in Bulgaria (at Kavarna Rock Fest) in 2008. MANOWAR have also been known for their slogan "Death to false metal » and have maintained a very strong following with dedicated fans worldwide as referred to by the band as "Metal Warriors", "Manowarriors", "Immortals" or "Brothers of Metal". The band signed with Atlantic Records in 1987. Via Atlantic, they released 'Fighting the World', which enjoyed more extensive distribution and increased the band's prominence in the international heavy metal scene. Album art was designed by Ken Kelly. In 1988, MANOWAR released the album 'Kings of Metal', which is the band's best known work. Songs like "Heart of Steel", "Kings of Metal" and "Hail and Kill" are performed regularly in concerts. 'Kings of Metal' is MANOWAR's highest-selling album worldwide. A new musical unit after the recent changes, MANOWAR released The Triumph of Steel in 1992. It gained some great success and was particularly famous for the presence of a suite lasting no less than 28 minutes entitled "Achilles, Agony and Ecstasy in Eight Parts", inspired by the events of the Iliad and the hero Achilles. After this release, the band went on a world tour for two years. Those MANOWAR’s album have become legendary and are still must have in any metal fan record collection . Vinyls formats Having been very rare and reaching high prices online, those three albums are now being made available again in quality coloured vinyls; Grab them now while you can !!

Lionheart is the sixteenth studio album by English heavy metal band Saxon, released in 2004. The title is inspired from Richard the Lionheart, a 12th-century King of England. ""Beyond the Grave"" was released as a single with complementary video. Lionheart is a pure heavy metal album -- the Saxon that old-timers know and love. Such standouts as the album-opening ""Witchfinder General"" and ""Man and Machine"" would not sound out of place on such earlier classics as Denim & Leather and Power & the Glory. Lionheart is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on gold colored vinyl and includes an insert. This special edition contains an additional and exclusive cover print.

Having lovingly reissued the first four albums by our all-time favorite all- female punk band, we now turn our attention to The Donnas’ major label debut for the Atlantic label, where they went after recording a quartet of classics for Lookout! 2002’s Spend the Night was by far the band’s most popular album, hitting 62 on the Billboard charts, but it wasn’t just the major label distribution mojo that upped the sales. Redefining what it is to be a DJ in 2022, this year Honey’s production capabilities have been enlisted by the upper echelon of musicians. Producing two records for Beyonce’s chart-topping album Renaissance and remixing lead single ‘Break My Soul’, as well as working in the studio with Madonna on new material. Now unapologetically expressing her own sound on Black Girl Magic, she unveils the next chapter of her development as a producer and songwriter.

Since the first teaser of the album, the BBC Radio 1 playlisted collaboration with Atlanta singer-songwriter Hadiya George ‘Not About You’, to the most recent single ‘Show Me Some Love’ featuring Compton royalty Channel Tres, the Black Girl Magic project has consistently illustrated Honey’s dedication to profiling diverse vocal talent. Shining a spotlight on a new generation of queer people and people of colour, Honey’s intentions to “keep this culture in the conversation,” are demonstrated with the featured artists on the LP.

Behind the scenes Honey has worked closely with Classic Music Company founder and close friend Luke Solomon, as well as regular collaborator Chris Penny on the production of the album. Her most adventurous and explorative output yet with a diverse range of influences, Honey’s Chicago musical upbringing is a driving force behind the LP, with her sights set on demonstrating how she first experienced the music of her hometown felt deeply across the record.

Working with British sculptor Jam Sutton, an artist who explores the relationship between technology and antiquity, 3D sculptural digital renderings of Honey have formed the artwork for all preceding singles leading into Black Girl Magic. Exploring identity, form, technology and classical portraiture, the artwork for the album comes as the final piece in the series of bespoke displays of Honey.

From her stratospheric DJ career, to her fashion line with COMME des GARÇONS: Honey Fucking Dijon, to soundtracking some of the most iconic fashion shows of the 21st century, Honey’s influence is felt far and wide across the worlds of music, fashion and art, with Black Girl Magic a powerful physical statement of her interdisciplinary artistic impact.

Little is known about Sun Atlas. The group members are hidden behind masks and costumes to keep their identities secret and to put the focus entirely on the music and oneness. "Microcastles" ist der Nachfolger des hoch gelobten Deerhunter-Albums "Cryptograms" (2006). Und wie es scheint, macht Bradford Cox (Atlas Sound) sein Versprechen wahr: "My punk days are over!", tönt der Leadsänger und kreative Kopf der Band auf MySpace. Tatsächlich überrascht "Microcastle" mit lockerem Charme und lässt nur noch stellenweise den wilden Garage-Sound der frühen Deerhunter aufleben. Das beinahe schon sakrale "Activa" unterstreicht das vielseitige und klare Songwriting der Band, während "Saved By Old Times" mit einer so kickenden Gitarre daherkommt, dass es auch auf ein Album von Dave Mathews passen würde.

Sein drittes Studioalbum “The Learning Of Urgency“ erscheint Anfang Juni 2024 auf ODESZAs angesehenem Label, Foreign Family Collective.

Für Kasbo ist „The Learning Of Urgency“ ein extrem wichtiges Konzept. Das Songwriting kreist um das Thema Entschleunigung, da die letzten Jahre seines Lebens von einem Gefühl des akuten Drucks geprägt waren, der sich in einem unterbewussten Zwang manifestierte, ständig mehr zu erreichen und zu tun. Das Ergebnis hätte ihn fast seine Karriere gekostet, da er einen seltenen, stressbedingten Hörverlust entwickelte. Das Ende der Pandemie relativierte diese Stressfaktoren, und indem er sich mit ihnen auseinandersetzte, war er in der Lage, persönlich und beruflich wieder auf Kurs zu kommen und dieses neue Album zu schreiben. Vier Jahre lang nahm Kasbo „The Learning Of Urgency“ auf, während er hauptsächlich in Göteborg und Stockholm lebte. Er hatte die Gelegenheit, im geschichtsträchtigen Aufnahmestudio Riksmixningsverket (RMV) zu arbeiten, das auf der Insel Skeppsholmen in Stockholm liegt und dessen Besitzer:innen niemand geringeres als ABBA sind. Das Studio ist in einem 150 Jahre alten Lagerhaus untergebracht, das früher von der schwedischen Marine betrieben wurde. Kasbos Musik hat bis heute über 500 Millionen Streams erreicht. Er wurde mit dem schwedischen P3 Gold Award in der Kategorie „Dance Artist Of The Year“ ausgezeichnet und erhielt Lob von Billboard, The FADER, Stereogum und anderen.
