Als Gast ist hier Rabea Erradi dabei, die offiziell nicht zur Besetzung gehört, als Saxophonistin für die neue Musik jedoch eine absolut tragende Rolle spielt. "Die Gruppe", das nach "Libertatia" von 2014 insgesamt sechste Album, ist zudem das erste überhaupt, das Andreas Spechtl ganz ohne fremde Hilfe produziert hat. Es ist ein Album voller Wunder und Schrecken, Rätsel und Leuchtfeuer, Gewebe und Löcher, fließender Geschichten und Slogans, die man sich auf die Stirn stempeln will. Vor allem: ein Werk, wie man es in der an Höhepunkten nun wirklich nicht geizigen Diskografie von Ja, Panik noch nicht gehört hat, nicht ansatzweise.

Zum ersten Mal auf Vinyl erhältlich, wird Brainfeeder am 9. Februar 2024 eine wunderbare Deluxe-Edition von Austin Peraltas Album aus dem Jahr 2011 veröffentlichen. „Endless Planets“ war und bleibt ein Meilenstein im Brainfeeder-Katalog und markierte den ersten Vorstoß des Labels in den Jazz. Es erschien ein paar Monate vor dem Debütalbum, „The Golden Age Of Apocalypse“, seines Freundes Thundercat, und vier Jahre vor Kamasi Washingtons „The Epic“. Austin Peralta, ein wahrhaftiges Ausnahmetalent am Klavier, verband mühelos neugierigen Futurismus mit unglaublicher Musikalität und einem gesunden Respekt vor dem Erbe des Jazz, und auf diese Weise ist es eine beispielhafte Brainfeeder-Platte.

Die Neuauflage enthält vier bisher unveröffentlichte Tracks, darunter eine Live-Version von „DMT Song“ aus Flying Lotus’ 2012er Album „Until The Quiet Comes“, die Austin Peralta mitgeschrieben hat. Aufgenommen in den legendären BBC Maida Vale Studios in London im Juli 2011, leitete Austin Peralta eine britische All-Star-Band bestehend aus Richard Spaven (Schlagzeug), Tom Mason (Bass), Jason Yarde (Altsaxophon), Heidi Vogel (Gesang) und Jason Swinscoe von The Cinematic Orchestra (Elektronik). Austin Peralta stammte aus L.A. und war der Sohn von JC Caldwell und Stacy Peralta. Er war ein Jazzmusiker. Nicht in dem Sinne, dass er oder ihm nahestehende Personen das Wort „Jazz“ in Bezug auf seine Musik in den Mund nehmen würden. Eher im Sinne von jahrelanger Übung und Hingabe an eine bestimmte Kunstform. Oder in dem Sinne, dass er unter anderem mit Chick Corea, Hank Jones und Ron Carter gespielt hat. In dem Sinne, dass er wirklich etwas drauf hatte. Dass er Klavier spielte und komponierte wie ein echter Veteran. Und das alles im Alter von nur 20 Jahren. Und das, bevor man sich mit seiner Arbeit als Session-Spieler für jeden und jede, von Erykah Badu bis Shafiq Husayn, oder die Zeit, als er in der legendären Big Band aus Los Angeles, Horace Tapscotts Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra, mitspielte.

Alara Music is releasing the new album of OXY, the new stunning electronic project by Ivan Pavlov (COH) and Sasha Galianov (Shortparis).

OXY is a transient project combining talents of Ivan Pavlov, major electronic artist better known as CoH who has collaborated with Coil, and Sasha Galianov, the main force behind the electronic sound of the avant-garde performance collective Shortparis. The two once met at a festival where they performed a semi-improvised live set. The first performance sparked mutual interest in continuing joint experimentation, which, after a series of concerts, eventually led to this studio recording.

The name of the album is constructed of the two titles presented each on one side of the LP. The first side, AETHER, delivers a powerfully charged contemplative exploration, in which the two seem to carefully study the sound of each other's instruments. The search for balance between the analogue and the digital reveals a murky terrain of focused sonic pressure interwoven with potent silence filled with echoes. Towards the end, AETHER, amorphous in the beginning, gains structure and rhythm, as if preparing the listener to its more agitated sequel, GUST.

Side two, starting with trademark minimalistic patterns of CoH quickly picks up in intensity and wanders into the domains of digital heavy-metal, in which Sasha's menacing guitar riffs are meticulously disjointed in favour of power focus. Then GUST takes the listener through a minor apocalypse, past a few relieving joyful moments of temporal enlightenment, and towards a strange peace found in a disorienting, synth-framed collage of acoustic guitar sounds.

AETHER GUST is a record that requires listener's full attention, offering in return a captivating journey though peculiar landscapes at the intersection of the worlds of two adventurous music explorers, exchanging their sonic beliefs and passions. An intense journey through a landscape of contrasts, between the warmth of analogue sounds and the aridity of demanding electro, both minimalist and abundant. This journey, these intersections, but also this permanent encounter between analogue and digital, are magnified by the physical version of AETHER GUST: it comes as a bundle of both Vinyl + CD versions of the album, all in a 12" vinyl sleeve then nestled in a thick crafted carboard black embossed sheath.

After refining their dark and seductive vision of alternative/gothic metal to surreal, cinematic levels with three EPs and a full-length album, The Cause of Shipwreck, behind them, the Assen-based Blackbriar continue to set their sails towards the future in 2023, signing with Nuclear Blast Records and working towards their second full-length album, again accompanied by long-time collaborator Joost van den Broek.

Formed in 2012 by Zora Cock, René Boxem, Bart Winters, and Frank Akkerman, they crafted their first single in 2014 with “Ready to Kill,” but it was 2015’s second single “Until Eternity” that truly propelled them into the scene. A sweeping track with an equally compelling and beautiful video, it continues to draw many to the act with over 18.1 million views since its debut. Taking advantage of the growing buzz surrounding the band, they independently recorded and released their first EP, Fractured Fairytales, as well as acquiring a second guitarist in Robin Koezen. This EP layed down an impressive foundation for the band’s ethereal and breathtaking sound and brought about new opportunities for the act, including tour dates in The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Hungary, and more, where the band played alongside Epica, Halestorm, In This Moment, Delain and MaYan. To keep moving ahead with full control of their creative ideals, the band successfully crowdfunded their follow-up EP, We’d Rather Burn, and brought it to life in October 2018. This EP would be the first time the band worked alongside esteemed producer Joost van den Broek to arrange and produce the effort, and this fruitful collaboration allowed Blackbriar’s whimsical and enigmatic sound to reach new sonic heights. Released the same day as their self-made video for “I’d Rather Burn,” this EP showcased a stronger sense of dreamy atmosphere and brought listeners beautifully grim tales of witches, banshees, and sea sirens. In the time following, keyboardist Ruben Wijga (ex-Re-Vamp) took a larger role within the band and began playing shows, after being involved in the songwriting process since Fractured Fairytales.

A busy 2019 followed, the band released a haunting single in May entitled “Snow White and Rose Red.” A duet with Ulli Perhonen, their take on the Grimm’s fairytale featured striking cinematic visuals to accompany the spellbinding track. Continuing to dig deeper into fairytale realms, Blackbriar closed the year with their third EP, Our Mortal Remains. Ever-sharpening their intoxicating blend of storytelling and breathtaking musicianship, the EP brought about new live exposures for the act as well. Small, sold out tours with Epica in 2019 and 2020, as well as a sold out opening for Delain’s Apocalypse & Chill release show in Utrecht followed, with more future plans then being put on hold due to COVID-19. Championing their continued independence, which included everything from songwriting, maintaining their web presence, overseeing merch, as well as shooting and producing their own videos and photos, Blackbriar reached out to their ever-growing and loyal fanbase for assistance to make their full-length album a reality in 2020. Fans fervently heeded the call, reaching the € 25,000 goal in under 24 hours and ending with a total of € 70,000 and achieving all five stretch goals. repeating itself as the Doomsday Clock clicks past its Reagan-era
maximum and nuclear anxiety comes back into style along with digital
synthesizers and sax solos. The deeper it pulls you into its own
uncanny reality, the clearer it becomes how thin the borders are
between Alan Palomo’s ‘World of Hassle’ and our own.

2022 marked the 10th anniversary of Lonerism. To celebrate, Tame Impala present fans with a deluxe 3LP reissue of the album that features previously unreleased demos from the era.
Recorded in both Western Australia and Paris between 2010 and 2012, Lonerism was Tame Impala’s breakout record. It received critical acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork and NME and is regarded as one of the best albums of 2012.

Against this digital dystopia, Sequence 87’s I Am Sequence propels the ear through a high-intensity array of blackened beats at once familiar and fresh. Das Reptil treibt seit 2015 sein Unwesen und hat sich erfolgreich im metallischen Dschungel etabliert. Torger (Gesang), Stevo (Gitarre), The Walt (Bass) und Sidney (Schlagzeug), die bereits am Album "Poison Thorn" beteiligt waren, wurden 2022 durch Gitarrenzauberer Pepe (Ancient Curse, Sons Of Seasons) verstärkt und somit erneut komplettiert. Der vielseitig erfahrene "Newcomer" hat sowohl live als auch bei den Aufnahmen bereits einige Duftmarken setzen können.

Mit dem zweiten Album wollen die 5 Musiker die sehr positive Resonanz auf das Debüt erneut unter Beweis stellen und damit ihren Platz im Ranking behaupten.
Wie schon "Poison Thorn" wurde auch dieser mächtige Brocken Musik in den Lübecker LSD-Studios von Mastermind Lasse Lammert (u.a. Alestorm, Gloryhammer, Wind Rose etc.) aufgenommen und produziert.

Beim Song "Story Of A Ghost" ist Wayne Dorman (Onslaught) mit einem Gitarrensolo zu hören.

The first reissue of seminal early 1980's electronic recordings from the British Electric Foundation (B.E.F.), aka HEAVEN 17 / ex-THE HUMAN LEAGUE's Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh, with Adi Newton (CLOCK DVA / THE FUTURE), and John Wilson (HEAVEN 17), originally a cassette-only release (1981).

Following two groundbreaking albums ('Reproduction' and 'Travelogue'), the original line-up of Sheffield-based The Human League split in half in late 1980. The two primary musicians in the group, Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh, formed a new production company - the British Electric Foundation (B.E.F.) - and signed a deal with Virgin Records to write and produce up to six albums a year. The artists they were to produce would include Heaven 17, their own new band formed with vocalist Glenn Gregory.

B.E.F. would also release their own material, commencing with the music on this collection, which was issued in various permutations in 1981-82. Its initial release in March 1981 was a limited edition numbered eight song cassette entitled 'Music for Stowaways', with 'Stowaways' being a reference to the original name for the then-new Sony portable cassette player - later renamed the Walkman - of which B.E.F. were great fans. 'Music for Stowaways' was intended to be listened to on such a device. The cassette was followed by a seven song LP, 'Music For Listening To', which had a slightly different tracklisting, while other B.E.F. music was utilised for B-sides of early singles by Heaven 17.

This music was among the first recorded by Martyn and Ian directly after their departure from The Human League. Some tracks had evolved from other recordings they were working on at the time, such as 'Groove Thang' - an instrumental version of the debut single by Heaven 17 - and 'The Old At Rest', which derived from a version of 'Wichita Lineman' by Jimmy Webb, their very first recording with Glenn that would subsequently appear on B.E.F.'s 'Music of Quality and Distinction, Volume One' covers album in 1982.

Supporting musicians on 'Music For Stowaways' included Adi Newton of Clock DVA (who had been a member of The Future with Martyn and Ian pre-Human League) on the track 'Uptown Apocalyse', with John Wilson (who provided incredible guitar and bass for Heaven 17) appearing on Groove Thang.

The innovative sounds heard on 'Music For Stowaways' were an inspiration to many aspiring electronic artists. In 2015, Uncut magazine included it in a list of the '50 Greatest Lost Albums of All Time'.

Pitch Black Progress (2006), Holographic Universe (2008), Dark Matter Dimensions (2009) und The Unseen Empire (2011) werden alle am 14. April zum ersten Mal auf Vinyl erhältlich sein.
