Brie Stoner ist eine Künstlerin, die sich ihres mehrsprachigen und multikulturellen Hintergrunds gekonnt bedient. Sei es nun in ihrer Indie-Dream-Rock-Musik, ihrem Schreiben oder ihrer Kunst. Als Musikerin hat Stoner mit dem Produzenten Jay Bennett (Wilco) und zuletzt mit David Vandervelde (Father John, Secretly Canadian) an ihrem neuen Album 'Me Veo' gearbeitet.

'Me Veo' ist spanisch für "Ich sehe mich selbst", und diese offenkundige Selbstentdeckung und Heimkehr wird in ihren Indie-Dream-Rock-Songs deutlich, die den Bogen ihrer eigenen Weiblichkeit spannen ... die zwischen verführerischer Sirene, verletzlicher Zärtlichkeit und Momenten der Souveränität in ihrer unverblümten Aufrichtigkeit harmonieren.

Ihr Sound ist ihr ganz eigener, lässt sich aber von Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac und Mazzy Star inspirieren. Brie's Musik wurde bereits von Victoria Secret, Orange Is the New Black, The Affair und Ralph Lauren genutzt.

Brie hat ein neues Buch veröffentlicht und moderiert den Podcast Unknowing, in dem Künstler und andere Kreative über ihre Arbeit sprechen.

Der in Island geborene und in Berlin lebende Singer/Songwriter Máni Orrason setzt auf seinem neuen Album "Blue Skies Motel" fast ausschliesslich auf seine akustische Gitarre, seine Stimme und seine Geschichten - und punktet mit allen. "Viele Songs kreisen um das, was ich jetzt manchmal meine 'dark Berlin years' nenne." Dass er diese nun jedoch hinter sich lassen konnte, lag vielleicht auch ein Stück weit an all diesen wunderschönen, traurigen Songs, die er für "Blue Skies Motel" daraus destillierte und die bei den Hörer:innen Begriffe wie Aura, Atmosphäre und Authentizität auslösen.

Máni Orrason ist einer der Künstler, die seit Jahren einen Proberaum im alten Funkhaus in der Nalepastraße in Berlin haben. Die ursprünglichen Radiostudios der DDR sind seit Mitte der 2000er eine beliebte Adresse für zahlreiche Musiker:innen. "Blue Skies Motel" ist nach dem gleichnamigen Gedicht von Robert Creeley benannt, dass Máni Orrason in einer Anthologie amerikanischer Dichter:innen fand – ein Buch, das in seinem Proberaum einen festen Platz hat und ihm immer wieder Inspiration liefert.

Graham Keith Gouldman (geboren am 10. Mai 1946) ist ein englischer Sänger, Musiker und Songschreiber, der vor allem als Co-Leadsänger und Bassist der Art-Rock-Band 10cc bekannt ist. Nicht viele Musiker können die größten britischen Gitarristen aller Zeiten und den bekanntesten Schlagzeuger der Welt für ihr Soloalbum gewinnen.
Aber der legendäre Sänger, Songwriter und Hüter der 10cc-Flamme Graham Gouldman hat im Laufe seiner 60-jährigen Karriere einige
bahnbrechende Freunde gefunden. Unter anderem haben Brian May, Hank Marvin, Albert Lee und Ringo Starr zu Gouldmans kommendem sechsten Soloalbum I Have Notes beigetragen.

I Have Notes bietet eine breite Palette an musikalischen Stilen und Texturen, die die Vielfalt von Gouldmans Katalog widerspiegeln. Mit Kasabian meldet sich eine der größten und wichtigsten britischen Rockbands in neuer Stärke mit einem brandneuen Studioalbum zurück! "Happenings" erscheint am 5. Juli 2024 via Columbia Records. Mit "Happenings" legen Kasabian ihr 8. und gleichzeitig eines ihrer besten Studioalben vor, wie die UK-Formation bereits mit der vorab ausgekoppelten Lead-Single "Call" beweist, die mit ihrem massiven Synth-Riff, den packenden Background-Chören und dem unaufhaltsamen Groove den Grundton des neuen Longplayers setzt. "Call" stellt den ersten Song dar, den Serge Pizzorno für das neue Album schrieb - ein Track, der nun einen ersten Ausblick auf die Verlockungen bietet, die Kasabian diesmal für ihre Fans im Gepäck haben. Mit dem Nachfolger ihres 2022 veröffentlichten Top 1-Albums "The Alchemist`s Euphoria" legen Kasabian auf "Happenings" zehn schnelle, geschliffene und hochdosierte Power-Tracks vor, die von der "Anything Goes"-Kunstrichtung der späten 1950er-Jahre inspiriert wurden. Während die Band einen scharfen Schlenker vom Dancefloor in Richtung Moshpit macht, wurden Tracks über drei Minuten rigoros aussortiert (jedenfalls fast). Insgesamt kommen die zehn Stücke auf eine Spielzeit von 26 Minuten ("Eine Minute kürzer als das Debütalbum der Ramones damals"). Mit anderen Worten: "Happenings" ist ein zwar kurzes, aber dafür um so intensiveres Hörvergnügen, das süchtig nach mehr macht. Alle Songs wurden in Pizzornos Homestudio The Sergery geschrieben und aufgenommen, bevor Serge und Co-Produzent Mark Ralph (Zara Larsson, Clean Bandit, Rudimental) sich gemeinsam an die Endfassung machten.

Omegon ist WORMEDs neuestes Meisterwerk, eine klangliche Reise vor dem Hintergrund eines uralten kosmischen Konflikts, in dem Zivilisationen um die Allmacht einer Substanz jenseits der sterblichen Hülle wetteifern. Durch die Erzählung von Krighsu, einem Hacker von Zeitlinien, der in kosmische Manipulationen verwickelt ist, entfaltet sich das Album über neun Tracks von technischer Präzision und brutaler Eleganz. Aufgenommen in den BlackStorm Studios und gemastert von den geschickten Händen von Colin Marston, ist Omegon ein Hörspektakel, das das Gewebe der Realität durch Schichten von technischen Riffs, unheimlichen Vocals und Erzählungen, die in kosmischen Überlieferungen stecken, zusammenwebt. Jeder Track ist ein Tor zu einer anderen Dimension und verspricht dem Hörer eine Erfahrung, die die Beschränkungen von Raum und Zeit überschreitet.

Clutchs "Slow Hole to China", ursprünglich veröffentlicht im Jahr 2003, ist ein Kompilationsalbum, das seltene Tracks und B-Seiten enthält. Das Album präsentiert die charakteristische Fusion der Band aus Rock, Funk und Metal mit einer rohen, undergroundigen Atmosphäre, die ihren eklektischen Stil und ihre lyrische Kreativität betont. Diese groove-lastigen Songs sind remastert und das Albumcover wurde aktualisiert. "Slow Hole to China" zeigt den robusten, energiegeladenen Flair, der typisch für den unverwechselbaren Klang von Clutch ist.

In the spring of 1954 Jazz-great Dave Brubeck did a tour of North American college campuses. Paul Desmond (alto sax), Bob Bates (bass), and Joe Dodge (drums) joined him and their support of Brubeck’s uniformly flawless, ultimately producing what many consider as the most memorable music in the artist’s cannon. Indeed, the genre gets schooled as the quartet leans in with striking energy and finesse. Enjoyed among college students in the 1950s and early 1960s both the tour and album brought Jazz to a whole new generation. Jazz Goes To College is available on black vinyl.

Vorabsingle ist die in jedweder Hinsicht atemberaubende Pop-Hyme "Chandelier", die mit Jesse Shatkin entstanden war und von ihrem langjährigen Studiopartner Greg Kurstin (P!NK, Lily Allen etc.) produziert wurde. In ihrer Karriere veröffentlichte Sia bislang 5 Solo-Alben, zuletzt 2010 die LP "We Are Born", die Platz 2 der australischen Charts erreichte und ihr auch in Deutschland die erste Album-Chartplatzierung bescherte. Das Billboard Magazin widmete ihr eine Titelgeschichte mit der Headline: "This artist is responsible for 12 million track sales… and doesn't want to be famous".

'Four', das vierte Bloc Party Album, das von 2008-2011 aufgenommen wurde und ursprünglich 2012 erschien, wird jetzt auf gelbem Vinyl neu aufgelegt.

Since the inception of Anxious in 2016, the band has always acted with purpose. This may seem like a simple premise, but for five kids still in high school at the time, it's quite an accomplishment. Early songs were packaged in limited run demo tapes with accompanying zines and hand-dyed t-shirts. Weekends were filled with regional runs of shows outside of their Fairfield, Connecticut homebase. With this amount of effort it's no wonder that within a few years of graduation, Anxious has built a solid foundation for their debut album to flourish upon.On Little Green House, Anxious explores what it feels like to enter adulthood in unflinching detail. The Connecticut band unpacks struggles, joys, and hard-earned realizations in a way that makes them feel wise beyond their years. OCTOPLOID ist die Kreation des Amorphis-Bassisten Olli-Pekka "Oppu" Laine. It tells the story of three different people and their everyday struggles, urging empathy from the audience, all over a genre-bending mix of rock, hip-hop and blues. Lightnin’ Hopkins is widely considered one of the great popular architects of the blues style that came be known as “country blues” and which proved to be huge influence on the future development of Rock ‘n’ Roll. “Mojo Hand” was one of Hopkins‘ signature tunes. Mixing his own style with Louisiana Creole and voodoo culture, the song ripples with an occult energy.This album, recorded for Fire Records, is especially interesting because it casts Hopkins in a more R&B-flavored environment. This obvious effort to get a hit takes for some excellent blues; moody and powerful performances play throughout. The Penguin Guide to Blues Recordings wrote that "Lightnin' is focused and businesslike and delivers a strong and varied sequence of songs; the bassist and drummer unobtrusive but very much there”.

The word Simultaneity is a technical term from the theory of Special Relativity representing two distinct events happening at the same time. This fluidity is embodied in the musical exploration of Ari Tsugi. Comprised of mostly self-taught musicians, the soundscape is a unique melting pot of UK Jazz scenes and the raw energy that comes from psychedelic rock. Produced and mixed by Glasgow-based musician Sam Bancroft (Starsky-Rae) alongside engineer-producer Villus Vilo Jokubaitis, the album features offerings from Liam Shorthall and India Blue (Azamiah) alongside the original Ari Tsugi trio -Clement Gaud, Joe Weisberg and Mashu Harada - with keys from Angus MacDonald being added later down the line.

In the flow of the success of their first vinyl record, MEUK Collective releases their new EP Tijdloos. A killer 4-tracker solo album by Denn Punk this time. I have a lot of beats lying around that I keep meaning to use for something. File under "Beats to Use". I thought I'd put them together on a little beat tape.

In my folders, my beats have random names like "BEATS 114 S_Z - 82" so in needing to give these ones names and in homage to "Special Herbs" I have named them all after drugs. Broadly these beats are pretty menacing, and have a big electronic influence.

I thought they sat well together and alongside the vocal feature from Jam Baxter. Some beat tapes are full of vocal samples or play continuously. I wanted this one to hark back to some of the beat albums of the late 90s that were meant for beat juggling with, cutting or rapping over. So here we are.

Dieser bisher unveröffentlichte Konzertmitschnitt des Tomasz Stanko Quartetts, der im September 2004 in der Münchner Muffathalle aufgenommen wurde, ist ein faszinierendes Dokument, das einen besonderen Moment in der musikalischen Entwicklung der Band einfängt, zwischen den liedhaften Strukturen des Suspended Night Repertoires und den frei fließenden Improvisationen, die die polnischen Musiker später auf Lontano erkunden sollten. Der Auftritt in München war ein Höhepunkt in einem Jahr, in dem das Stanko Quartett eine Rekordzahl von Auftritten absolvierte, mit ausgedehnten Tourneen durch die USA und Europa. Der große Trompeter selbst zeigt sich hier von seiner charismatischen Seite, in hervorragender Form und sichtlich inspiriert vom energiegeladenen Spiel und der kommunikativen Kraft von Marcin Wasilewski, Slawomir Kurkiewicz und Michal Miskiewicz, den dynamischen jungen Musikern, dessen Mentor er war. Das Live-Album wurde von Manfred Eicher produziert.

The 12-track project delivers more of the signature no-gimmick, undeniably Country sound fans have come to know, love and obsess over from the star and includes his current Top 20-and-climbing single with his former tourmate on “Different ‘Round Here (featuring Luke Combs).” The music and lyrics, both heavily influenced by blue-collar roots, small town life and slower way of life, exemplify Green’s homage to his experiences, beliefs, passions and love of family. The title bares its name from a poignant track on the album, “My Last Rodeo,” which Green wrote solo following one of the final conversations he had with his late Grandaddy Buford Green near the end of his life. Buford was the brains behind converting Riley’s great-grandparents' home into the Golden Saw Music Hall and is credited for Riley’s musical appreciation, education and inspiration, while his Granddaddy Lyndon can be attributed for Riley’s love of the outdoors.

This new album, "Endless Questions and Answers," features nine original compositions created for her new quartet, in collaboration with the world-renowned tenor saxophonist Jure Pukl. Ten of the selections on this set are compiled from two separate performances. None of the performances on the album have previously been available. The A-side consists of tracks recorded in
1970. The B-side collects a couple from 1965 and is rounded out with four tracks from 1971. The 40- minute live collection LP will be pressed on black vinyl with rare photos and liner notes

Frail Body is a three piece band from Rockford, IL. "Artificial Bouquet" is an eleven song album by Frail Body. Produced, engineered, and recorded by Pete Grossmann at Bricktop Recording, and mastered by Jack Shirley at The Atomic Garden (Deafheaven, Joyce Manor, Loma Prieta). Opening track "Scaffolding" explodes out of the gate with dizzying speed before descending into a wash of discordant melody. "Berth" and "Critique Programme" then inject pulse-pounding tempo shifts and unorthodox heavy riffing into the fray. "Devotion" plays as a stunning ebb and flow epic that shows method to their musical chaos. "Monolith" and "Refrain" then blur the lines between post-hardcore and melodic black metal in their frantic approach. These lead to "No Resolution" and "Runaway"; two slow build numbers that showcase the otherworldly dynamics Frail Body possess. "Horizon Line" follows this path as it builds to bone-shaking crescendo. Lastly "Another Year Removed" serves as an instrumental bridge to closer "A Capsule In The Sediment". A song that empties the emotional tank for all to bear witness. All of it so raw and beautifully out of control. Without question, "Artificial Bouquet" establishes Frail Body as leaders within the modern "screamo" movement. A shining example that the once dormant sub-genre continues to evolve and thrive for all the world to see.

Rain/Water is the fourth album by Tokyo's Kariu Kenji. Following 2021's Sekai, also on Bruit Direct Disques, rain/water is a gorgeous haze of song, a modern driftwork that's creatively rich, and full of fleeting sensation. These twelve lush pop songs point in multiple directions, outwards to bossa nova, modern R&B and soul, ambient bliss-outs, city pop confections, and electronica. But rain/water also has a sly experimentalism at its core, the kind of experimentation that doesn't need to call attention to itself, but that exists 'between the cracks' of the songs - in small, curious gestures of arrangement, in a sudden twist in melody, or an unexpected detour in a song's narrative. In this way, they share something of the stylistic free range in other great recent avant-pop moments - think, perhaps, of the music of Maher Shalal Hash Baz; Stereolab's more late-night, hermetic moments, or High Llamas' recent Hey Panda.

"Murder Paragraphs" is Roc Marciano at his finest and showcases DJ Rude One's signature less-is-more, grimy sound. This 7" contains the original and instrumental version, new artwork by Spectacular Diagnostics, and follows previous entries from Raekwon, Blu, WestSide Gunn, Conway, Open Mike Eagle, and more. This pressing is limited to 500 copies, and will also set the table for DJ Rude One's forthcoming LP, Upper Space, which will feature Stove God Cooks, Valee, RXK Nephew, and of course a new collaboration with Roc Marciano.

"The Proposal" is the collaboration full-length by Jersey City emcee Ransom and producer extraordinaire Statik Selektah. Originally released in 2013, the album features guest appearances by Styles P of The LOX, Termanology and Ea$y Money. Besides being a leading session musician in Milan's jazz scene between the 60s and 90s, Italian pianist Oscar Rocchi created a number of exquisite library albums in the pop-jazz genre. These include among others "Erbe Selvatiche", "Pop-Paraphrenia" and "Woman's Colours" (the latter co-written with his friend Giancarlo Barigozzi) as well as "Alchemy in Jazz", which is now available in digital format for the first time ever.

Originally released on Ring, an imprint of Edizioni Minstrel, the album was recorded by a quintet featuring Rocchi on piano plus long-time collaborators Hugo Heredia (sax and flute), Sergio Fanni (trumpet), Gianni Cazzola (drums) and Furio Di Castri (double bass), and has since become a cult record in countries from the US to Japan, where it was released for the first time on CD in 2013.

With a palette ranging from frenzied post-bop echoes("Gold-Fast", "Nigredo") to sentimental nocturnal ballads ("Solution", "Rubedo") to cheerful modern-jazz vibes ("Mercury", "Silver-Bop", "Sulphur"), here Rocchi paints an elegantly syncopated musical fresco that, like the magical, alchemical process referred to in the title, transmutes the harsher aspects of jazz syntax into a graceful and more euphonic style that is approachable for jazz neophytes and yet enjoyable for seasoned jazz lovers.
