"The Golden Age of Wireless is the debut album by English musician Thomas Dolby. The album was originally released in May 1982. Several tracks have a submerged, barely audible layer of almost random sound that serves as a constant (and disturbing) subtext, occasionally erupting into a song. This sonic underworld is all part of Dolby's mechanical wizardry. Rolling Stone magazine awarded The Golden Age of Wireless four stars out of five, calling it ""one of the most impressive debuts"" of 1982. They compared the album's melodicism to the works of Paul McCartney and concluded that ""unlike many synthesizer bands from England, Dolby eschews morbid, droogy drones."" Musician magazine said the album was ""the best damned record to come out of Europe's current fascination with synth-pop. Period."" Theye added, ""Dolby is purely amazing. And best of all, he writes songs.""

Gatefold sleeve Insert Seventh studio album by black metal band Satyricon Includes the single "Black Crow n A Tombstone" and “My Skin Is Cold” Originally released in November 2008 through Roadrunner Records, The Age of Nero is the seventh studio album by black metal band Satyricon. Most of the album was written in a forest cabin, with the collaboration of Snorre Ruch (Thorns).

It was recorded in part at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, California. In this studio bands like Metallica and Nirvana had also recorded. In support of the release The Age of Nero the band did a full European headlining tour in November /December 2008. The album includes the single "Black Crow on a Tombstone" and “My Skin Is Cold” (also released as 5 track EP prior to album release). Available on black vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve and it includes an insert.

A multidisciplinary artist, and avant-garde icon in her own right, Little Annie leaves little room for an introduction that is worthy of her prolific career. She has remained relevant for over four decades through her innate spirit of experimentation and the multiplicity of her genre-bending collaborations with artists traversing the globe such as Adrian Sherwood, Swans, The Wolfgang Press, Kid Congo, Current 93—the list goes on!

For this release, Noir Age is proud to present a 7” single of new material from Little Annie in collaboration with South Florida-based producer and label owner Richard Vergez, recording here under the moniker of Night Foundation. Annie and Richard met back in 2016 after a gig at the ICA in Miami through their mutual friend: Drew McDowall of Coil.

Sharing a requited spirit for visual art and music, they became fast friends and began collaborating, conjuring what you hear on this release: Inertia.

"Night Foundation is one of the current electronic projects envisioned by Florida's Richard Vergez. In this instance, his work is smooth and bassoid enough to have a vague dancefloor-friendly feel without being overtly prancy. This notion is enhanced by the presence of a dub B side, so things are not as dark as with most of Verge's projects. But they're still not sunny. Of course, Little Annie's lyrics and casual vocals have more in common with urban menace than sunshine pop, so the pairing works quite well."

An archival release of sorts. Leeds-based outfit Drug Free America’s existence spanned 1987-1997 and was chiefly the side project of Brian Moss, from UK synth-pop duo Vicious Pink, along with the late Steve Dixon. Early on, they explored a harder edged, industrial techno type of sound.

However, the tracks issued here are a bit of an anomaly. Culled from their 1995 CD release ‘Narcotica’ and joined by vocalist Hayley Windsor, these long form tracks rest on a tapestry of eternal groove; stringing a high wire between toasty cyberdelic dub canyons and ethereal post-punk architecture. This is the first time the tracks will be appearing on vinyl.

- Following on from the success of the 2024 editions of The Age of Consent and the incredible viral activity for 'Smalltown Boy', London Records follow up with Forbidden Fruit - a remix compendium to The Age of Consent. Similarly to 1995's Hundreds and Thousands album, The Age of Consent has been re-interpolated to create a new remix album - traversing Hi-NRG, House, Italo Disco and more - while working together as a cohesive listening experience.

Katagory V sind eine Progressive-Power-Metal-Band aus Salt Lake City in Utah. Anfang 1999 gegründet, sind bis dato fünf Studioalben erschienen: Auf "Present Day"(2001) folgten "A New Breed Of Rebellion" (2004), "The Rising Anger" (2006), "Hymns Of Dissension" (2007) und schließlich "Resurrect The Insurgence" (2015). Nun hat die Gruppe einen Vertrag mit High Roller Records unterschrieben, dessen erstes Resultat das brandneue Werk "Awaken A New Age Of Chaos" ist. Aber auch eine Menge Speed-, Thrash- und Doom-Bands der späten Achtziger und frühen Neunziger. Dazu Thrash-Metal-Gruppen der alten Schule - Realm, Death Angel, Helstar, Flotsam & Jetsam sowie Atrophy - und ferner auch härtere Melodic-Hardrock-Formationen, speziell aus Deutschland, da denke ich an Bonfire oder Jaded Heart." Das sollte all denjenigen, die mit Katagory V noch nicht vertraut sind, einen guten Eindruck davon geben, wie die Band klingt. Alles in allem ist das neue Werk "Awaken A New Age Of Chaos" von einer überraschend dunklen Grundstimmung geprägt: "Oh ja, dem stimme ich ausdrücklich zu", bestätigt Dustin Mitchell. "Diese Platte ist viel düsterer und auch zorniger als alles, was wir in der Vergangenheit gemacht haben, vielleicht mit Ausnahme unseres zweiten Albums. Quickly on the heels of their debut, Cuneiform Tabs return with Age, an LP that takes a massive leap forward in both melodic sensibilities and inventiveness. Bathed in late night psychedelia and the looping repetition of a drone sample, the group's experimental penchants remain, yet this time wrapped around tunes too sweet to be denied. In pulling back a little of the crackle and haze that made their first album so inviting, the Tabs have revealed more of their pop instincts. The overall effect is a perfect set of early Animal Collective demos or Syd Barrett attempting a Television Personalities cover at 3am.

The duo of Matt Bleyle and Sterling Mackinnon continue their system of trading 4-track tapes between the Bay Area and London, a furtive correspondence until sonic nuggets are fully formed. While these songs are very much the product of the Tascam and rudimentary software that is integral to the band, this album is truly the embrace of their songwriting talents – not unlike the recent breakthrough of labelmate Cindy Lee.

With the dream-like strum of "Ivy," slow shimmer of "Orbital Rings" and enchanting, madcap swirl of "Blended Medal," this is hypnagogic pop at its finest. Age is the record Bob Pollard hears in his head every time he steps down to the basement to pick up a guitar. This is the sound of riding in an elevator hearing McCartney singing "Blackbird" in the distance, only to have it draw closer and closer with each floor as you finally race down the hallway, putting your ear to each door searching for the source. This is Leonard Cohen smoking in the middle of the street outside a Suicide show. If all of this sounds phenomenal, it is.

The 1970s and 80s saw Ghanaian musicians begin to incorporate Western sounds like funk and disco into their music, reflecting the changing global musical landscape. However, the country's political instability and economic hardships, marked by military regimes and curfews, forced many artists to leave Ghana in search of better opportunities abroad. In Europe and the U.S., these musicians fused their traditional highlife roots with emerging digital sounds, using cutting-edge technology like the DX7 synthesizer and drum machines to create the genre now known as Burger Highlife. With ‘Borga Revolution!’ Kalita offers a vivid exposition of this musical transformation, using rare interviews, archival photos, and detailed liner notes to bring to life the pioneering spirit of both well-known icons and unsung innovators of Burger Highlife, one of West Africa’s most exciting musical movements.

Vanishing Twin's seminal LP, The Age Of Immunology, receives a LTD edition re-pressing, this version is sine teal vinyl with matching sleeve colour. As essential take on psych-pop futurism and a must for fans of Broadcast, Sun Ra and Ennio Morricone. Establishing the band as innovators in their field, the record was declared "a masterpiece" by The Line Of Best Fit, while The Quietus asserted Vanishing Twin as "one of the most original and exciting acts of the moment". This was the group's first LP for Fire Records, at the time of recording the band's evolving lineup consisted of songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist Cathy Lucas, drummer Valentina Magaletti, bassist Susumu Mukai, synth/guitar player Phil MFU and visual artist/film maker Elliott Arndt on flute and percussion. The album was produced by Lucas in a number of non-standard, non-studio settings. 'KRK (At Home In Strange Places)' summons up the spirit of Sun Ra's Lanquidity and Broadcast And The Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults Of The Radio and was simply recorded on an iPhone during a live set which crackled with psychic connectivity on the Croatian island of Krk. The magical Morricone-esque lounge of 'You Are Not an Island', the blissed-out Jean-Claude Vannier style arrangement of 'Invisible World' and burbling sci fi funk ode to a 1972 cult French animation, 'Planete Sauvage', were all recorded in nighttime sessions in an abandoned mill in Sudbury.

Released in late 2012, Odes was the fourth studio album from The Flowers of Hell. It is a covers record and the first release from the group to feature vocals and verse-chorus-verse song structures. Never available on vinyl until now. Greg Jarvis, front man of The Flowers of Hell, has created something very special; the artwork features a die cut outer sleeve, revealing the printed inner sleeve and when removed, revealing more artwork on the inside of the 300gsm outer sleeve. Fragility, modesty, delicacy... Frànçois’ voice evokes illustrious contemporaries, from Devendra Banhart to Vincent Gallo, whose vocal inflections sometimes echo behind the uniquely French timbre.

Artists like Malik Djoudi with his captivating pop, in-demand jazzman Thomas de Pourquery, and British folk artist Rozi Plain all lend their talents to Âge Fleuve. These three delightful collaborations blend seamlessly into the album’s 10 tracks. "This record explores the relationships between mid century architecture, consumerism and community. The gradual or sometimes brutal removal and change of places in the name of progress. These changes leave traces that people have to deal with on a psychological level but probably never really acknowledge. This record explores loss of community and loss or unsympathetic altering of shopping spaces. When something is unceremoniously knocked down or altered and something else replaces it then the thing before it becomes ghost like and is at risk of being forgotten. Not dissimilar to when the Christian faith built their buildings upon Pagan sites. It has a similar purpose (to pray or to shop in this case) but the older thing becomes dreamlike and is confined to folklore. The community is always fed the propaganda of progress but looking back, I certainly cannot deny the beauty of what has now gone. Maybe there is a sense of dissolution and denial about such matters. The record is also interested in the sense of community of these past spaces and how shopping centres have generally declined mainly due to the rise of neo liberalism and tech giants. When you see old footage of these spaces in their prime, you get a sense of a space age future, everything looks new but paradoxically the people look to be from an older time. Today I can see real poverty and complete disenfranchisement from being in these new spaces. It's not all doom and gloom though as spaces, especially the ones in Plymouth are not that much altered and could be brought back to the architects original dreams."

Gitkin ist Frontmann der Soulband The Pimps of Joytime aus New Orleans, seine Produktionscredits reichen von Corey Henry & The Treme Funktet über Bernard Purdy bis zu Cyril Neville und Cedric Burnside, für dessen Album "Benton County Relic" er bei den 61. Grammy Awards mit einer Nominierung für das "Beste Traditionelle Bluesalbum" geehrt wurde.

Video Age follow up their newest album `Away From The Castle' with a new 7" release. Side A, "Record Shop," a sparkling pop/rock cut is a playful theme song for record shop employees, the track follows a fictional record store clerk through a typical day in the life of slinging records. Alluding to classic 70s songs from acts like Don McLean, America, and NRBQ, Video Age are right at home in the pantheon of great American songwriters. Side B is a reworked version of the recent LP's title track called "Out In The Country." The track features Alt-Country/Americana singer Esther Rose, dueting with Video Age's Ross Farbe on this stripped-back acoustic swooner.

Video Age make breezy and timeless songs that are so ineable, they can only be the result of a decades-long friendship and songwriting partnership. Across four albums, Ross Farbe and Ray Micarelli have gleefully worn their influences on their sleeve, writing inviting tunes that reference sounds ranging from disco to pop and indie rock. On their latest LP, Away From The Castle, the New Orleans duo have strayed from nostalgia and instead have honed their own unique musicality, making songs that sound like themselves with a taste of inspiration from classic singer-songwriters of the 60s and 70s. The album is a testament to the possibilities that come from getting out of your comfort zone, the freedom of writing vulnerably and unselfconsciously, and the joys of getting to work with your closest companions. After releasing and eventually touring their critically-acclaimed third album Pleasure Line in 2020, Farbe and Micarelli sought inspiration for their next project through collaboration. They worked with Drugdealer on his album Hiding In Plain Sight, Micarelli gigged throughout New Orleans' jazz and blues scenes, and Farbe recorded local artists at his home studio, most recently producing Esther Rose's new album Safe to Run. Feeling refreshed, they rented a cabin in Eunice, Louisiana with touring members Nick Corson and Duncan Troast, where they spent eight days in August 2022 jamming, cooking and writing together. Through this process, Video Age have made their best collection of tracks to date by perfectly alchemizing their influences and experiences into a record still tinged with nostalgia, but moving towards a more succinct and authentic voice. Away From The Castle is a document of a band having fun and rediscovering their love for making music together, but it's also their most honest and personal work yet-Video Age distilled to its purest form.

Gitkin returns with Golden Age, a showcase of the latest evolution of his lyrical guitar-driven sound. Exploring the endless expanses of cumbia, North African/Middle Eastern music, the guitarist has increasingly brought his own personality to these traditions, creating a lively interplay between distant modes and rhythms and his own New Orleans-steeped sound.

Synth pop trio Bronski Beat's 1984 debut The Age of Consent is a rarity in musical history - an album that both defined a generation and challenged the status quo. In addition, his work as one-third of dynamic trio Felon5, coupled with his unique sound, has taken him from Albania’s ION Festival to Los Angeles, alongside making a handful of appearances for FUSE and its sister brands on home turf at fabric, The Cause and Village Underground - plus 2024’s Open Air event at Barking Park earlier this year. Building on that relationship, late September brings fresh music as Enzo Siragusa invites the exciting selector to make his label debut with an array of impressive productions across his ‘Age Of Virality’ EP. A-side opener ‘Swarming’ is all action and kicks things off with authority as a snaking bassline guides a garage-influenced trip through bumping low-ends and hooky vocal samples, while ‘Machine Language’ delivers a mix of playful tones amongst sweeping melodies while delivering a heavy dose of robot funk. On the flip, ‘Defusion Solution’ is a heady late-night excursion through skippy percussion and cosmic tones, with ‘Rising Sun’ stripping things back to deliver a classy, hazy journey as organic percussion grooves unravel effortlessly.
