This time, Japan’s Takaaki Itoh and Scotland’s Deepbass are proving that in Techno, nothing is lost in translation. The EP opens with Takaaki‘s signature, timeless mental synth workout, “Fusioner”. Deepbass strips the original back to its core elements and takes the track in a much more minimal, yet functional direction that we’re sure is going to work wonders on any floor. On the flip, Deepbass continues to venture into more emotive territory with his original “Monolite”. Unafraid to use vocal pads, the track is brimming with emotion, giving it a distinctly cinematic feel, like a story unfolding. Takaaki closes the record with a pounding iteration of “Monolite”, with tones like those straight out of an astromech robotics division.
