This is the long-awaited reissue of Mukai’s first release on the Better Days label, bringing together jazz dynamism and fusion’s vivid flair. With a spirituality reminiscent of his early works, bossa nova touches that hint at what would come later, plus tropical and rock beats and plenty of funk, it’s a crossover gem packed with diverse appeal.

At the time, Mikio Masuda was frequently mentioned as a Japanese jazz musician on par with the soft-and-mellow crossover sound of artists like Bob James and Ramsey Lewis. With a supple sensibility that moves effortlessly between jazz and rock, he stands as one of the defining figures of the 1970s. Now, one of his essential masterpieces, "Moon Stone", has been confirmed for reissue as the fifth installment from SPIN THIS NOW!

Recorded on February 22, 1977, in New York, this rare session captures Japan’s proud bassist Takashi Mizuhashi performing alongside Herbie Hancock.
Throughout the album, Mizuhashi’s deeply resonant bass tone and melodious phrasing shine, making this a quintessential “international” Japanese jazz classic.

Die 15 Tracks sind überwiegend kompakt gehalten und bewegen sich zwischen minimalistischer Komposition, experimenteller Clubmusik und installativer Klangkunst. Rhythmisch komplexe, rau strukturierte Stücke stehen neben beatlosen Passagen von fast ekstatischer Intensität. Splayed Werks ist gleichermaßen intellektuell anspruchsvoll und körperlich erfahrbar - handgemacht, intuitiv und klanglich kompromisslos. Braxton zählt seit über zwei Jahrzehnten zu den prägenden Figuren zwischen Neuer Musik, Elektronik und Avant-Pop: Mitbegründer von Battles, Kollaborateur von Philip Glass, Komponist für führende US-Ensembles und regelmäßiger Gast großer Festivals und Institutionen weltweit.

Hitomi Toi's famous cover album "YOUR TIME Route #1", released in 2012, is being reissued on a colored LP for the first time in 13 years.

Produced by Kunimondo Takiguchi (Ryusenkei) as a sister album to the summer classic "CITY DIVE", it covers a number of famous Japanese pop songs, mainly from the early 1980s.


Included are Yuming's "Tenohira no Tokyo Tower" from the 1981 classic "Sakuya Oimasho", Takeuchi Mariya's "Natsu no Koibito" with lyrics and music by Yamashita Tatsuro,
Miyamoto Noriko's "SILVER RAIN", and the radio song "Black Moon" by Kisugi Etsuko and Minami Yoshitaka.
The selection of songs is also amazing, capturing the atmosphere of that era, including EPO's "Saturday Night Paradise," the ending theme of "Oretachi Hyokinzoku" and Akemi Ishii's "CHA CHA CHA" the theme song of "Nanjou ni Natsu Monogatari"

I G Culture's "The Remedy" celebrates this vibrant underground culture and highlights the interconnectedness of all musical styles. Through his innovative production and thematic depth, he underscores the transformative power of dance music, emphasizing its role in promoting well-being and unity. The idea of Fungi also is expressed in the artwork by Amsterdams 'Machine' with IG's direction, who used fungi in an original collage revealing a secret world.
