Silversun Pickups kehren mit ihrem sechsten Studioalbum "Physical Thrills "zurück, das am 19. August über das bandeigene Label New Machine Recordings erscheint. Physical Thrills, der Nachfolger des 2019 erschienenen Albums Widow's Weeds, wurde von Butch
Vig (Nirvana, Garbage, Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, Foo Fighters) produziert und von Billy Bush gemischt.

Physical Thrills umfasst eine eklektische Mischung aus verzerrten Synthesizern, tanzbaren Pop-Melodien, reduzierten Balladen und einer Sammlung von "Dream Shanties"-Melodien, die alle miteinander zu einem kohärenten Gesamtwerk verbunden sind. Das Kunstdesign
stammt von Lawrence Azerrad (Grammy®-Gewinner für The Voyager, Wilco).
