Lab Music’s latest release presents an EP from various artists, each offering a unique perspective on electronic music. This release showcases the label’s commitment to experimentation and innovation, allowing artists to freely explore their sound. Side A sets the stage with “Cylinder,” a collaborative effort between Slak and Stephanie Sykes. This track takes listeners on a journey into ambient-rooted breaktechno, featuring cinematic pads and powerful drums. Appleblim follows with “Every Blade Of Grass,” a wild break-electro beat that combines ferocious reese bass and solid synths. Side B begins with Datafive’s “My PC Is Not Political Correct,” delivering his personal take on low-tempo drum and bass merged with wistful idm melodies, and the usual dose of sound design. The compilation concludes with Anna Kost “W03 X” delves into the world of futuristic electro, with accurate sound design and drum programming combined with spiritual atmospheres. Mit mehr Abwechslung denn je erweitern Tricklebolt die Möglichkeiten ihres von den 70ern beeinflussten Rock'n'Roll-Sounds. Tricklebolts neues Album "Honey From The Sky" wurde in acht verschiedenen Studios mit acht Gastkünstlern, Mitgliedern von DeWolff, Temples, Birth of Joy, Death Alley, Indian Askin, Automatic Sam und vielen mehr aufgenommen! Wenn man sich beim Cruisen durch Wiesen, entlang von Flüssen und über Hügel verirrt, könnte man sich durchaus im Gebiet von Tricklebolt wiederfinden. Aus dem Osten der Niederlande brauen sie den Soundtrack für die "Easy Rider"-Momente des Lebens. Naturnah und in einem großen Kupferkessel rührend, mischt Tricklebolt eine Prise Psychedelika und Rock'n Roll mit einem Hauch von Adrenalin, Schweiß und ursprünglichen Gefühlen. Ein Schluck aus dem Kessel reicht aus, um Tricklebolt voll und ganz zu erleben: ein energiegeladener Soundtrack, bei dem man im einen Moment völlig verträumt in psychedelischen Passagen versinkt und im nächsten Moment lautstark Refrains und Riffs mitsing

Lab Music 4th record is a solo Ep by Slak with a massive Answer Code Request remix, exploring the world of ambient rooted break-techno with a drum and bass excursion in the remix.

On the A side we find the first two tracks, Reflexion a club oriented break-techno track, combining dark ethereal textures with driving beats and sharp synths. Before Midnight, an elegant yet powerful gem with tribal reminiscences, Roland drums and light pads.

On the B side we have New Horizon, delivering melodic ambient rooted pads and the usual 909 broken beats. Furthermore we have a special drum and bass rooted remix of the same track from Answer Code Request, exploring Idm and d’n’b, combing dreamy moments with strong breakdowns.

In this new chapter of Lab, the two minds behind the label collaborate on a record that represents the two souls of the label. The break-techno-ish dance-oriented Slak vision, and Datafive introspective sonic adventures. The ep has two tracks from each producer and one collaboration by them. On one side, we can see the evolution of the Slak sound where he evolves from a dubby and lightful identity from the first ep to a new darker and solid sound. Pressure and Under Control, two dark and groovy UK break-techno missiles. Dark atmosphere and powerful drums ready for the dancefloor. Flipping the record, we find two eclectic tracks by Datafive. Plenty of influences here: electronic, glitch, IDM, hip-hop, dubstep, to name a few. The first track of the side is Outsiders, a journey into the artist’s feelings. Mysterious pads, mid-tempo syncopated drums, warm basses, dreamy chopped vocals, and more. The Hive instead explores the territories of the classic UK-step heritage. Vibrant sub-bass, ethereal textures, and solid stepper beats. The last track is Patience, a collaboration between Datafive and Slak. Meditative, yet powerful cyber trip-hop. We have dark-dub pads and stabs with sharp broken beats which portray a desolating landscape of a lost future.

Slak debut on his own imprint with 3 balanced breaks/electro deep cuts entitled ‘Desireʼ including a remix from Datafive.
‘Desireʼ is built on fuzzy breakbeats, dubby pads and vibrant sound effects whilst ‘Intreccioʼ is more rhythmical with itʼs lively 909 hi hats, acid synths-and solid low end. Atmospherical but punchy, ‘Textureʼ with vocal echoes combining it with ethereal pads and clean breaks. Furthermore we have an elegant dʼnʼb remix of the track ‘Desireʼ from the co-owner Datafive, delivering the usual accurate mix of sound design, drums and dub-tech influences.

The Italian producer’s debut output delivers a post-genre ep, ranging from introspective mid-tempo landscapes to epic dub-tech drum’n’reese and post dubstep club oriented hypnotic grooves.
He’s combining dubby digital synths and accurate sound design with solid uk scenario beats, time-stretched whatever, wobbling squelchy bass and much much more, all wrapped in an absolutely mind-blowing sleeve design from Geso.
