Two Lisbon mainstays from contiguous generations join forces as Scam Dust for the new Paraiso record: Tiago, Lux Fragil resident, world-renowned DJ's DJ and all-round music whizz plus Shcuro, Paraiso's co-founder, scene documenter and impeccable selector & producer. Funnily enough they also live in contiguous beach towns in the outskirts of the capital, Parede and Carcavelos. That's where they zig-zagged amid home-studios and, four hands in various machines, concocted this refreshingly to-the-bone record. Like a non-local entanglement between Lisbon, Sheffield, The Hague and somewhere in the American Midwest, 'Gastric Pulse' EP opens with a saturated, modulated acid line over a tight, industrial-tinged techno beat, peppered with sonic dirt of the highest order. It sounds like music projects like Downwards and Mathematics would put out. 'Enzyme Breaks' follows suit with a comparably raw spirit, adding some mysterious atmospheric scintillation and drum variations. A certain recluse techno (is that a thing?) comes to mind (and heart), Unit Moebius style. Toms abound in 'Pepsin Drive' - always a promising sign in our book - and the playfulness continues in the cheeky bassline and the intricate clap work. Soulful stabs give the tune extra magic via the mantra-like structuring power of repetition. The final track in the record comes from Pacific North-West transplant Doc Sleep and her collaborator Elias FS step in for remix responsibilities and flip the B1 into a hypnotic, dubby - and yes, jazzy - piece complete with a dive into glitchy, sonic sculpture territories towards the end of the arrangement. Quite the brilliant take. Music still counts (and always will), after all is said and done - and nothing like two hard-working music-makers to remind us of that.

The Ukrainian mainstay offers up three deeply submerged late night grooves that come dusted in tasteful sound design. Flexing his rhythmic aptitude, Beksi applies percussive elements and dubby electronic motifs to craft melancholic tones throughout the EP. Melodies may be in short supply, but Beksi's signature style creates invigorating and emotively fueled productions without them.

Adana Twins return to Watergate Records with a magnificent three-tracker that begs for a summer dancefloor (but the tracks are that good, they’ll be played for a while to come).

Since their label debut in 2017 with ‘Flower of Cane’, Adana Twins have become firm favourites of the Oberbaumbrücke crew. From handling mix duties on ‘Watergate 25’ to holding down regular gigs at the club prior to 2020, the Hamburg duo always deliver.

‘The Curve’ is their first release on WG since 2019’s cracking remixes of Josh Wink’s ‘Higher State of Consciousness’. The title track is a big bouncy electro cut packed with plenty of groove. A super fun
production sure to bring a smile to your face. ‘Cyrus’ belongs in a motion picture and is epic in composition. It traverses cyborg breaks before moving into a retro key-laden riff, all the while driven by a
powerful ‘Silence / Violence’ vocal. This was made for a big festival moment. ‘Alone’ is the emotional final.

At first propelled by an ‘80s synth and airy pads before a shimmering lead takes control and pushes the track into celestial terrain.

An incising snare marks the return of Luxus Varta to Shipwrec. Since his last appearance, Aquamarine Puzzle in 2017, the Frenchman has been honing his craft with releases on a spread of stellar imprints. Noise Figure is the culmination of that refining process, his sound and style being forged and framed within the parameters of electro. And these parameters are immediately tested. From the warbling bass and tight percussion of The Resetter, crystalline chords cascade before a shimmering string of wintery warmth. Terse beats introduce Building Peaks, wraith-like rinses offering space for playful forms to take hold. Fudgey basslines are unsettled by sci-fi synths, a touch of the otherworldly balancing this unique cut. The warm current of Lizardous penetrates the frostier funk of the EP, delicate and fragile notes thawing the cold rhythms and glacial undertones. Phase alternations arise where overlapping waves diverge in phase, revealing the hidden
geometry of sound. A phenomenon that Peryl deliberately allows to happen — thus placing
the physical and technical aspects of music at the center of attention. His new album
builds on a fundamental idea of electronic music — but reimagined.

The person Peryl and his needs steps into the background during production —
functioning merely as a channel that intuitively receives and transmits what long-studied
machines, in dialogue with the subconscious, collectively bring to the surface.

The result is a collection of nine tracks, like emanations of precisely crafted analog
synthesis. No sound returns the same way twice. This fragility fuels the urgency — a
creative necessity to listen, to commit, to allow form to arrive before it dissolves again.

Rhythm is no longer on the grid, but a series of small shifts, offsets, and delays. Loops fall
slightly out of sync. Deviation creates friction, and friction creates energy. Through the
layered interplay of phase-driven effects — chorus, phaser, flanger — the sounds begin to
breathe in alternate rhythms. Hollows emerge. Swells fold into one another.

Challenging these swells is an essential part of Phase Alternations. Effects come alive in
subtle shifts, industrial textures whisper melodies, folding and unfolding in rhythms that
emerge through their own logic.

Nick Curly and Marc Scholl present the next chapter on Cécille Records - a collaboration where Reboot meets a new generation of Italian talent, Shokë.

Frankfurt-based Reboot, a key member of the Cécille family, joins forces with the young and rising Naples-based duo Shokë for their debut on Cécille Records. Naples and Italy as a whole, has been home to a strong and loyal Cécille fanbase for decades, making this collaboration a natural next step.

The connection was sparked through shared ties within the Italian scene, with Blackchild playing a key role in bringing the artists together and connecting Shokë and Reboot early on. From the very first studio sessions, a strong and organic synergy emerged …one that is clearly reflected in the music.

The result is a collection of powerful, timeless house tracks with depth, groove, and character, blending experience with fresh energy while carrying the unmistakable spirit of Cécille Records.

Next up on Bruno Schmidt’s Assemblies Of God; The eagerly anticipated follow up to one of the most impactful leftfield records of 2023, Bauzer Vep’s The Gurner. Alexander Folonari brings us Gut Und Günstig under his brand new Sabber Mund Alias. Previously appearing under Shampoo Douglas and La Decima Vittima on Quest’s La Nota Del Diablo imprint, Sabber Mund takes a very different form. This music could be described as “Post-everything”, combining elements of dance music, with a punk-meets-folklore education.. Label welcomes Tunisian-based artist Ahmet Mecnun to the label for the first time with open arms and with sincere hope it is not the last due to high level admiration for his artistic output. Ahmet has crafted M.E.S.S.A with dark flavour oozing throughout the EP that has unified the audio trips together in a complete story. The remix duties of the A-side track have been taken by none other than Uruguayan mastermind Marcos Coya who has provided his take on this matter and has done it flawlessly so. The synergy between the two artists from different backgrounds and cultures but same ideology of music has resulted in M.E.S.S.A to take the shape it has now. The dark times are coming so it is best to go into the loop state of mind to avoid or to welcome psycho override depends on the mood and current feeling one might be going through.
