Myth? Legend? No need to pump this up, the music is self evident. As is the crew of Marfox, NK, Nervoso, Fofuxo, Pausas and Jesse, who shaped the universe as we know it. The simplest of elements for maximum (minimal) impact, an imperative burst of energy that perfectly echoes the title of Marfox's first EP: I Know Who I Am.

These are statements of personality directly stamped on the dancefloor. "Hard Tecno" (without the H, yes) embodies the crystal clear intention of the set: to light a fire wherever the beats fall. To make people smile and move. And this was (and is) achieved without the need for obvious smiley culture signposts. The music just came through with fierce enthusiasm. All were youngsters (Nervoso being the elder) in 2007, and youth is definitely a factor in the fearless display of bare bones dance music production. Raw, is it?

A second volume of DJs di Guetto on Príncipe was always going to happen. The tough part was deciding how to organize the bangers on the tracklist without ending up with a quadruple vinyl set. Thus separate volumes 1&2. Volume 1 (2023) was culled from the actual DJs di Guetto compilation (self released in 2006), whereas Volume 2 comes straight from the crew's archives, nearly 100% unreleased tracks produced in 2007.

The crew disbanded as such a long time ago, but the legacy stands as sacred scriptures stand. FL Studio and standard laptop and tower desktop PCs combined as raw materials; a no-fuss approach added by these DJs and producers who sound unequivocally rootsy and primeval, drinking from the source. Also punishingly minimal, dry and alien. Happy-sad, sweet-sour, nice-angry, soft-aggressive. Words fail us. It's 2026, new humans seem to beon the rise but some old ways are still enthralling.

You‘re feeling great, just bought new records and you’re ready to toss ‘em on the decks and let ‘em spin. Nevermind your bank account has you on a strict diet of yum yum noodles instead of that expensive, slow, regional stuff you normally get. „Anyway it was a good choice, I love records. It’s an investment..“ you are telling yourself while sliding the record out of its sleeve. „Cheap Fast Worldwide“ — black letters on a white background. You put the needle on the disc.

Punchy drums bathe in lush chords and you’re pulled into a smooth, lounge vibe. Tonight it’s caviar, not yum yum noodles. A playful bassline bounces in, with a nod towards disco roots and a modern twist. An unmistakable cheesy 90s melody is the cherry on top.

Aptly named, the inner track on this side greets you when a „One, two, three, quattro“ rings out over a tight, breaky groove. Meanwhile, rather deep, monotonous pads carve out space for your mind to wander…

As you flip it over, things start to shift. Strange melodies and dirty drums tease the unknown. Out of nowhere, the pitch drops, and a low, driving bassline takes hold. It pushes forward with a relentless energy that keeps you on the edge, unsure of what’s coming next.

A highly sophisticated fade out leads you to the last track — a raw and infectious drum groove laced with choppy vocal snippets and warm crackles. Stripped back, yet the beautiful chords slice through, adding depth and the right sense of movement, taking you deeper into the night.

Just like their first release, this one hits you with a mixed bag of vibes produced by the same various artists. Felix and Olli, Oski & EE deliver two sun-drenched, housey grooves that will get any dance floor bouncing. Into the best Balearic tradition boldly steps Milan’s Rollover crew. As well as a regular party in Milan, the Rollover DJs (Tiberio Carcano & Rocco Fusco) have been making edits and releasing tunes over the past several years, but with this release there has been a step change in ambition. The latest collection of songs has been produced in a studio with actual musicians and songwriters, but with the ear of an experienced DJ. The best of both worlds. It was recorded almost exactly one year ago in December 2022, with the cream of Italian players, including bass player and Jovanotti collaborator, Saturnino, sticksman Sergio Carnevale, vocalist David Blank and guitar and synth boffin Lorenzo Morresi, who’s helped the guys with production. It follows in the tradition of a new generation of Italian musicians, like Nu Genea, Mystic Jungle Tribe and also DJs like Volcov. The lead single, ‘What Do You Live For’ was what Rocco & Tiberio describes as, “a funky track inspired by the early 1980s” and grooves so hard, with Blank’s message hitting right in the solar plexus. This will be followed by a pair of bangers, ‘Change My Mind’, a mid tempo disco chugger that is a tribute to LTJ Experience, the Bologna DJ Luca Trevisi, while ‘Never Found The Way’ heads towards Arthur Russel, before pealing off directly to the dancefloor. There’s also a Bawrut remix that adds some urgency and darkness to proceedings. The package is completed by lovely artwork by Riccardo Corda, whose work has adorned the Nu Genea releases. Is it Balearic? We think it is.

The DJs Pareja have been flagging they’re a DJ duo in love long before the recent trend. ‘Pareja’ literally translates as ‘couple’, and that is just how Diego and Mariano do life; in tandem. It may not seem so radical these days, but the Pareja’s have been unapologetically queer trailblazers in their hometown of Buenos Aires, Argentina - throwing raves and putting out pop dance records for decades. It took us years to get these boys to come play for us in San Francisco, but when they finally did, minutes off the plane we were hugging and shedding a little tear in front of the Castro theatre sign. I always knew that one day we would get them on the label, and this EP is a product of how far this new gay techno underground has come. So it is with great pleasure we present 4 tracks produced south of the Equator, mixed for the gods, with some signature vocals and some sounds we’ve never heard from these Argy boys sleeping in a Queen bed.

KosmoramaDisco Vol. 1 is the first of a series of compilations that KosmoramaDisco label wants to release from this year to the near future. The Vol. 1 shows a sampler of few of the first tracks produced by different electronic artists. The label presents a wide range of electronic styles all with a spaceship common ground, from Italo to Dark Disco and Slow Mo all wrapped in club dancing format

When Steve Lawler first sent us 'Crazy Dream,' he told us that he had made the record 'specifically with Turbo in mind,' thus sending us on a quasi-lucid journey down a rabbit hole of self-discovery from which we have only recently emerged. Most labels would simply talk up a nuts-to-the-wall floor-filler with a killer 'White Horse' bassline from an acid house legend and be done with it, but the fact remains that if we forgo an opportunity to learn more about ourselves as dance music imprint, we are doing our fans a disservice whether they could possibly be expected to realize it or not. We hired a board-licensed Forensic Poet to parse the track's lyrical references to nothing being 'quite as it seems,' 'feeling naked and confused,' and rising above 'the push and shove.' What was he trying to tell us The poet assured us that all it meant was that Lawler admires Turbo and thought the track would be a good fit, and that we should put our clothes back on, wipe the confused looks from our faces, and stop pushing and shoving one another because everything was exactly as it seemed. We paid him his $25 and did as we were told. For the remixes, we took a track made especially for us and enlisted a diverse cast of Turbo All-Stars to spin it into a release for everyone, a proprietary practice we call 'Human Alchemy: The Future of Generosity™.' Finland's Jori Hulkkonen, Belgium's Charlotte de Witte, and Argentina's DJs Pareja trace a beautiful global triangle for lovers of acid bangers, stripped-down techno, and tripped-out weirdness, respectively. At Turbo, giving party people what they need is more than just a crazy dream. It's a crazy reality.

For this vinyl release of the label Atelier Electronique, Alix, a survivor of the first techno era, remembers with this title, kicks and melodies that made the great moments of american electronic music scene. "Technasia" is remixed on the B side by Madben, who was discovered by Laurent Garnier on his show "It Is What It Is", already playlisted and played by top DJs and adopted by the Atelier Electronique label.

Nightcode EP finds UK deep-house craftsman Jacksonville in full control, lacing warm chords, swinging drums and basslines built for red-lit basements. Magnatek / Gepardenmantel marks the return of Fratelli Malibu to La Scimmia Records, six years after their 2020 debut.

This time, the sound digs into different shadows, shifting toward a colder and more obsessive European aesthetic. Andrea De Fazio and Paolo Petrella leave behind the vibes of their first record to dive into the raw pulse of electronics: a mechanical heartbeat that echoes the urgency of radical clubs, built on tight, stripped-back rhythms.

Wilson opens the A-side with “Interdimensional Romance,” a science fiction workout that threads together acid echoes of Chicago, Detroit, and New York. “Nightride” follows with a more laid-back approach, rooted in acid yet softer around the edges, with a subtle ’90s pull. On the B-side, Echiverri’s panned synths on “Chaos Terrain” vividly wax and wane across layers of LFOs. “Roche Lobe” closes the record in a more spacious mood—another acid-minded piece, less aimed at peak-time utility than at the late-night afterglow of the club.

Together, the four tracks understand acid not as a fixed formula, but as a flexible language. These are the songs of the underground clubs on Arrakis. See you at the front of the speakers.

"MODEM - In itself, as a name invented for a band, it's significant. MO comes from "MOdulazione." DEM comes from ''DEModulazione'', logical functions in analog and digital transmissions. And the signal that the Bologna duo AMIN-PECK want to give us is that "Your Fun" and "Valerie" contain artistic and musical information, especially avant-garde, created in an electronic style with strong new wave tendencies, but absolutely ahead of its time. Among the Italian discos of end 70s that represented a cultural phenomenon that has remained in the collective imagination, ''Picchio Rosso'' stands out. Besides serving as an entertainment venue for thousands of young people, it served as a bridge between DJs and many talented young musicians. The discotheque was the laboratory for 4 Italo-Disco productions, all recorded at the Amin-Peck studios in Bologna, under the direction of Giancarlo Meo, who, after the successes of Easy Going and Vivien Vee and other Claudio Simonetti productions such as Capricorn and Kasso, enjoyed great esteem and prestige. This is how excellent Italo-Disco songs like "Another Song" by Music Service, "Eve of Destruction" by Vivien Vee, "Boogaboo" by The Jugglers, and "Running Straight" by Amin-Peck were born, the latter being the true musical architects of Peecker Melody, including the one-off project MODEM.. What can be said about "Your Fun" and the instrumental "Valerie"? Simple, slightly hypnotic, wellconstructed, and catchy songs. Just as the two songs were mixed by various Picchio Rosso DJs of the time--Luca Zanarini and Silver were the most legendary--Best Record has reissued them, with the same cover designed by Leonard Parker and featuring Claude Gorial, the man who 40 years ago designed the original cover and the current reissue. Same names, same success !!!"

From its inception back in 1996 Black Vinyl Records has always been a label for the serious DJs. Tony Humphries, Paul Trouble Anderson, Ricky Morrison, Justin Berkman, David Morales, Bobby & Steve and most serious Underground DJ’s supported the original vinyl release of Kerri Chandler’s early masterpiece ‘My Old Friend Alan’, dedicated to label founder Alan Russell, and it gained many more supporters following its recent digital re-Master. Dub and House Music. Two aesthetics born in the shadows, shaped far from the mainstream music industry. Two underground cultures where independence is often a necessity and ingenuity is essential. Two scenes rooted in the margins of society, with dance, sound systems and minorities at their heart.
From the Jamaican sound system sessions of the late sixties, through the nights at Chicago's Warehouse, to the murmurings of the New York house scene in the early eighties — history shows that house, reggae and dub share far more than many people may assume. Collective action, resistance as a driving force, music moving straight from studio to turntable, shared messages: these are the threads that bind these landmark musical movements together. It is at this crossroads, driven by the spirit of experimentation that defines them, that the members of Stand High Patrol found yet another territory worth mapping.
"Skanking & Jacking", the new Musketeerz album, reveals a side of the Dubadub sound never heard on record before. Built for the dancers and for DJs, the LP brings together the pulse of house music and the vibrant groove of reggae. Uncharted territory, never interfaced like this before.
