For their second release, Shimmy turns to JK47’s ‘Vacation EP’, a mysterious record that slipped onto the shelves of Toronto record shops in 2003 and is now sought-after by discerning dance music collectors. Self-distributed by Kaelo Gallagher at the time, it joined a short run of his own releases that were clearly marked by his distinct sound. Combining elements of progressive house, breakbeat and deeper grooves, this EP is no different.

Soaked in dub and psychedelia, the four tracks on the ‘Vacation EP’ offer a unique take on the typical ‘prog’ sound. Crunching percussion meets cosmic synths and tripped-out vocals, with JK47’s iconic basslines rumbling throughout. Whether it’s played at peak-time, after-hours, or the grey areas in between - it’s time to shimmy.

JKS is back on his own imprint with Temples, opening a different chapter of his sound. Across three original tracks, he explores a more melodic and expansive direction, while keeping the raw rhythmic energy and distinctive percussion that have always defined his productions. Processed instruments, playful synth lines and organic textures come together with a sense of openness and curiosity, always anchored in movement and groove. Alongside the originals, three remixes by Aloka, A Strange Wedding and Olympe4000 extend the scope of the release. Each artist brings their own sensibility to the project, reinterpreting the material in their own language and broadening the spectrum of both the record and the imprint. Together, they highlight different facets of JKS’s influences while keeping a shared sense of drive and tension. The result is a collection that balances movement and emotion, precision and spontaneity. Deeply rooted in the dancefloor, yet unafraid to venture beyond familiar boundaries, the release captures an artist and a label continuing to evolve while staying true to their core.

Reboot Record Label presents Atmosphere EP by Juzel The Argentine producer from Mar del Plata brings his refined touch to Reboot with a release that balances warmth and restraint. Musically, Atmosphere EP sits mainly within the house spectrum, weaving Balearic warmth, progressive momentum and minimal precision into a body of work made for both sunrise terraces and late-night floors. The EP also features two contrasting remixes. Anastasia Zems, the Lisbon-based artist celebrated for her instinct-driven mix of trance, progressive house and experimental electronica, delivers a prog-house reinterpretation full of emotional depth and hypnotic energy. On the flip, Manchester's Aiden Francis, a rising force from the city's underground known for fusing tech, progressive and rolling tribal elements, turns in a techhouse remix built for peak-time release.

Mana is the International Anthem debut by trombonist and composer Kalia Vandever.

The collection carries the spirit of their first solo album, We Fell In Turn, while entering a new landscape of spacious songwriting. Mana, which in Hawaiian means “foundational, supernatural, or divine power and strength,” reveals more of their voice and words, drawing from yearning, loss, and bewilderment.

Esoteric Ears is a new label from Barcelona’s Conor Brophy.

Its first release comes from an unsung hero of the early 00s: Julian Foddy. As Katakana, Foddy released a string of now sought-after EPs, with a signature, brooding sound in the sweet spot between progressive, breaks and tech house. EARS 01 represents Katakana’s first release in over two decades, archival tracks forgotten for 20 years but that sound like they could have been produced yesterday, perfectly tuned for contemporary dance floors and listeners.

Side-long A1 ‘Incline’ is a driving but patient percussive progressive groove: heavy but spacious. On side B the stabs and bass pressure of ‘Xii’ are primed for peak time play; B2 ‘Fear of the Unknown’ is more heads down and pensive, with gradually unfurling hopeful melodies, perfect for mornings and after hours.

Legendary Bulgarian artist KiNK is widely regarded as one of the most respected live acts on the global scene. He is a noted tech wizard who creates loops on the fly, crafts killer drums and never fails to hypnotise dancefloors. He has released on almost every influential label of the last 15 years and taken his unrivalled live show to all corners of the world, often drawing on those sets to bring aspects and inimitable qualities from his performances into his tracks. This innovative approach has helped to solidify his reputation as a groundbreaking figure, inspiring a new generation of musicians and producers, and he once again showcases precisely why he's in a league of his own here with a first appearance on SHDW's newly minted Mutual Rytm X.

'Unicord' opens up this new EP in thrilling fashion with sleek, Detroit-style synth loops flashing up top as the heavy, pounding while warm drums drive things down low. 'Quantum Shake' brings 90s energy with new school sound deists - the dubby drums are fast and urgent, the synth craft is deft, and the percussion adds texture to a straight-up but sophisticated techno anthem. 'Pitch Down' then brings fantastically unhinged synth leads that spray and zip about the mix to boggle the brain. Rattling percussive loops and chunky drums keep things moving as those synths get even more wild. To close, the digital bonus 'Highpass Lowpass' is a masterfully muscular cut with rugged bass and taught synths interlinking to mind-melting effect.

Ghetto Records was Latin music legend Joe Bataan’s way to get over on The Man and out of the ’hood, a bold move by an artist looking for independence and creative control in an industry that had exploited his talents and treated him like chattel.



As Bataan puts it today, “Ghetto Records was part of my journey, a stepping stone to everything else that I’ve done. I learned enough that it enabled me to get out of the box with my thinking, it showed me how to deal with adversity.” Like many dreams and schemes born of the street, this one was audacious, perhaps even reckless to a fault.

Hatched from desperation yet full of hope Ghetto Records came crashing down shortly after its inception. The seven albums in its discography languished out of print - until now.

From the windswept streets of Edinburgh comes a sound that gallops wild through the night — equal parts jungle heat and Highland haze. Los Chichanos, a fiercely multicultural collective formed in 2021 under the spirited direction of guitarist Sandino Borges. Never ones to wait for an invitation, the band have carved out a scene of their own in Edinburgh, a home for tropical rhythm and nocturnal joy amid Scotland’s long dark nights. Their devotion to the electrifying pulse of Peruvian tropical music, cumbia and chicha, intertwined with Afro-Latin rhythms and vintage psychedelia runs deep.
Add the soul Cuban son, the swing of Brazilian grooves and a hint of spaghetti western melodrama, and you begin to hear the distinct voice of Los Chichanos. Caballo Salvaje gallops forward with fuzzed- out guitar, echo-drenched organ, and the untamed spirit of the Andes. Cumbia de la Noche was written during a harsh winter season when daylight became a distant memory.

Anthea and Oshana’s tandem label UNIT-Y is back with a steezy new output by Lucio. The artist’s music sounds like Dj Hell would accidentally start peak-ing from a very good designer dr*g at a dirty electro-tech-squat-party somewhere in Rotterdam in the early 2000’s … ruff stuff.

Discosabotage Records is an evolution of the collective founded by Luval in Amsterdam in April 2024. Having recently relocated, he felt the need to create something that truly reflected his own vision and the music he loves. What started with selecting records gradually evolved into selecting demos, driven by an increasing desire to shape a distinctive identity and sound.

DSB001 is the label’s first various artists release, featuring Luval, Massi, Two Opposites, and Paradise City Breakers. Each artist brings a unique perspective while remaining connected to the vision behind Discosabotage. Minoru “Hoodoo” Fushimi is something of a cult favorite among purveyors of obscure Japanese sounds from the 80's. Running parallel to the city pop phenomenon but existing distinctly outside of it, Fushimi's sound is a lo-fi blend of electro synth funk, drum machine beats, & early hip hop. His “Thanatos Of Funk” album lives on many a record collector's want list, and has already been

reissued more than once. Upstart imprint Tokyo Love Song, a spin-off of XL Middleton's MoFunk label, brings one of Fushimi's signature cuts, “In Praise Of Mitochondria,” to the 7” format for the first time ever. On the flip, Middleton himself teams up with Japan's leftfield modern funk favorites Milk Talk to deliver a remake of the song, entitled “Funkin Me Up.” This quasi-cover blends XL's signature squiggly funk sound with the quirky vocal stylings of Q.i, along with guitar & bass licks courtesy of Hairkid, the other half of Milk Talk.

“Capsule” is the debut album from Modis, the new solo project of Argentinian producer Rafael Caivano (a.k.a. Frikstailers, a.k.a. Klik & Frik). The album will be released on Latinambient, the newly launched label curated by Populous. 'Ghosted Edits Vol 2' the emphasis has been on the less obvious. 'Two Wings' on the initial 'Ghosted Edits' was a superb disco jaunt, whilst 'Follow Him' opted for a swaying jolly down groove with a nice soulful sound. If you dug 'Follow Him' I can guarantee that 'Save The Children' and 'Beautiful People' will be essential purchases for all you disc jockey types, and those of you who jus' like vibes that you can melt into a chair with or sip on yer long drink and spectate from the side of the dancefloor as the DJ builds the room. A stroke of genius from Moton too as they opt to release this latest couple of jams on a seven, and we all know how much the soul boys and gals love a seven.

Multicast Dynamics aka Samuel van Dijk presents Language of Colours. A substantial set of vibrant, cinematic tracks marking the first release on Language of Colours, a sonic imprint dedicated to conceptual electronic music. 10 tracks moving through organic ambient, reduced downtempo beats, lush soundscapes, and experimental drones. What began as a career in DIY bands has since evolved into a wholly solo endeavour, with her recent work in particular showcasing her prowess as both songwriter and performer. The album was recorded by Scott Evans (Kowloon Walled City, Sumac, and Great Falls) at Studio Litho in Seattle during three weekends this winter, and mixed in three days just six weeks before release at Evan's Antisleep Audio in Oakland.

Neurosis will play their first show in seven years on the traditional lands of the Blackfeet Nation in Montana as part of Fire in the Mountains festival by special invitation of Firekeeper Alliance, a non-profit dedicated to reducing youth suicide in Indian Country.

FITM, is a unique festival known for bringing epic music to epic landscapes with the intent of reconnecting and immersing oneself with the natural world, and strengthening our ancestral roots as human beings - an aim which aligns directly with Neurosis’ deep-rooted power.

After the acclaimed Bar Mediterraneo, Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquilina return with People Of The Moon, expanding their sound into a space of creative freedom. The “People of the Moon” are not fictional, but a dimension within us all: a deeply personal yet universal force, an alternative mindset that emerges when freed from social constraints.



Under moonlight, the album explores anxieties and aspirations through groove and rhythm, expressed in Neapolitan, Arabic, English, Spanish, and Portuguese. It moves fluidly from Afro-Cuban influences in “Celavì” to Anatolian textures in “Ma Tu Che Bbuò”, blending highlife guitars with Nu Genea’s signature mandolins-new rhythms filtered through an Italian lens.



The first single “Sciallà” (2025) introduced this direction: dance as catharsis, not escape. The title track reflects a quiet resilience-persistent rather than triumphant. “Onenon”, featuring Tom Misch, channels Mediterranean brit-funk, while “Acelera”, with María José Llergo, evokes a flamenco-tinged pursuit of the unattainable.



“Puleza” recalls Nuova Napoli with driving energy and vintage synths, while “Shway Shway”, sung by Celinatique, captures the album’s orbital flow-measured, rich, and rhythmically complex, echoing afrobeat explorations with Tony Allen.



Melody remains central, as in “Carè”. Across ten tracks, falling, flying, and dancing merge in a suspended groove. Gabriel Prado’s “Ondas Do Mar” embodies this pull: a cyclical motion, like the tides—irresistible, transformative, and alive within us.
