Mit einer großartigen Auswahl an Tracks hält Ace Records die Singlebox 'High Time' als New Release im Label-Jubiläumsjahr bereit. Nochmal Grund genug, diese legendäre Garage-Band mit diversen fulminanten Garage-Rock-Krachern auf 7inch aus dem Rock'n'Roll-Nirvana zu holen und gebührend zu feiern.
Die Box präsentiert die heißesten Singles der Band aus ihrer Glanzzeit von 1964 bis 1966, zeitlose Klassiker wie 'Psycho', 'Cinderella', 'Boss Hoss' und natürlich das Debüt der Tacoma-Legenden, 'The Witch'. Dazu kommen einige Klassiker die ursprünglich nie auf einer Single erschienen, wie 'Strychnine' und 'Have Love Will Travel'. Darüber hinaus erscheinen erstmals Tracks aus der Etiquette- und der Jerden-Ära zusammen. Letztere sind vertreten durch die beliebten Nummern 'Head On Backwards', 'Like No Other Man', 'High Time' und - erstmals auf Vinyl - die seltene Audio-Recording-Version von 'Maintaining My Cool'. 'High Time', zusammengestellt und kommentiert von Alec Palao, ist ein attraktives Paket mit einem ausführlichen Booklet voller seltener Bilder aus der Linse des unnachahmlichen Nordwest-Fotografen Jini Dellaccio. Nothing said new or modern or futuristic quite like a synthesiser in the 70s and 80s. If you were shooting an advert and you wanted your product or your company to appear forward-thinking and ahead of the game, then you would want something electronic, something out of the ordinary. When TV producers and advertising directors started searching for music that sounded like “Tubular Bells” – and then Tomita, and later Jean Michel Jarre – music libraries such De Wolfe, Bruton, Parry and Chappell had to have the tracks readily available.

Compiled by Bob Stanley, “Tomorrow’s Fashions” varies from advertising jingles and TV themes to space exploration and gorgeous, beatless ambience. Though it’s 40-to-50 years old there’s a real freshness to this music. Older jazz players Brian Bennett, John Cameron, Alan Hawkshaw and others seized the chance to operate a synth; younger pups including John Saunders and Monica Beale were simply intrigued by the new technology being wheeled into the studios. There’s a tangible sense of adventure.

“Tomorrow’s Fashions’” brand of electronica anticipated new age and ambient music. It also had both a direct and indirect influence on pop – the early Human League and the future sounds of Warp Records are all over this collection. Electronic library tracks have been sampled by everyone from MF Doom to Kendrick Lamar.

One person’s primitive and experimental is another person’s space-age lullaby. This was music made in the shadows – in Soho’s secretive music library studios – that has now become desirable and influential. The chances are chunks of it will be sampled and used on hit records that have yet to be written. If the musicians’ aim was to soundtrack tomorrow’s fashions, they couldn’t have got it more right.

Compiled by Bob Stanley to document the acid folk scene, “Gather In The Mushrooms” was first issued in 2004 on Sanctuary as a CD-only release; it proved popular enough for a sequel entitled “Early Morning Hush” two years later.

This new edition of “Gather In The Mushrooms” contains the cream of both long-deleted compilations with a few additions – COB, Roy Harper, Fotheringay – that weren’t available to Sanctuary at the time. Though they aren’t traditional, these songs have an authenticity of their own, an autumnal atmosphere and a naivety which proved influential in the 00s neo-folk boom (Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom, Alasdair Roberts, Tuung et al) but impossible to replicate. For many of these acts at the end of the 60s, folk music and the hippy world that surrounded them was a way of life, a way of opting out from the Vietnam war, Angry Brigade and three-day-week early 70s. Anne Briggs lived in a caravan in Suffolk, Shelagh McDonald lived in a tent, Vashti Bunyan eschewed electricity; they weren’t part-timers. Listening to “Gather In The Mushrooms”, we are transported to a time when no one used the term post-modernist.

It may not have resonated with dyed-in-the wool political folkies, but over five decades later this music sounds very evocative of an England of yore – not necessarily one of poachers and pedlars, but one of long-haired youths in tie-dye T-shirts, bikers and hippies, acoustic guitars played in white stone cottages. Groups such as Stone Angel, Midwinter and Oberon made primitive, privately recorded folk albums; today they sound as distant and mystical as the field recordings of Alan Lomax. The sincerity and folk knowledge of a group like Forest becomes irrelevant once you hear something as eerie and evocative as ‘Graveyard’. Home-made, homely, warm as soup or chilling as a hoar frost, this is music of innocence and rare beauty.

The wonderfully favourable response to our first CD and double vinyl volume of the original A and B sides of the singles of the late great Isaac Hayes – as originally released on Stax’ Enterprise subsidiary between 1969 and 1972 – has forced us to bring forward, this month, the release of “Hot Buttered Singles 2” to cater for what Ace is sure will be just as great a level of popular demand.

This volume picks up where “Hot Buttered Singles Vol 1” left off with Hayes’ final 45 of 1972, and carries his seven inch story through to 1976 – by which time Stax was defunct, and Hayes’ was on his own Hot Buttered Soul label via ABC Records. It features eight US R&B chart hits including the much sampled ‘Hung Up On My Baby’ and ‘Chocolate Chip’, Hayes’ biggest hit of this period ‘Joy’ and the ever-popular 1976 instrumental ‘Disco Connection’, which finally gave Hayes’ his second UK Top 20 hit after ‘Shaft’.

All tracks match the original single edits, and wherever possible are taken from digital transfers of the original Enterprise singles masters. Where the original 45s came in two parts, they also do so here. And where original singles masters no longer exist, as was the case for two tracks, Ace’s engineers have re-created them beat for beat from the longer album versions. Soul music has always been in Paul Weller’s blood from early Jam covers of Martha & the Vandellas 1963 classic ‘Heatwave’. Along with other forms of music, soul found its way into Paul’s record collection, nourishing his ears and informing his own songwriting

We don’t need to recap a questing musical career from the Jam to the Style Council and then blossoming into one of the most productive and revered careers of any UK solo artist. Paul has written anthems, standards and a songbook that have always developed from his own feelings.

Whilst Paul has talked about his love of soul music he has, before now, simply been too busy to sit down and curate a collection of his favourite tracks and get it into the record racks.

Ace Records are honoured and delighted to finally release that Paul Weller curated collection which he has aptly titled, “That Sweet Sweet Music”.

This 2-LP set and CD open the curtains on 26 tracks that are some of Paul’s favourite soul records most of which nestle on vinyl in his own collection. He can still recall paying £70 for his copy of Jon Lucien’s 1971 ‘Search For The Inner Self’ 7” at a record shop in Leicester in the 90s. Some of these tracks are soul classics like James Carr’s 1966 ‘Pouring Water On A Drowning Man’ and Brother to Brother’s brilliant take on Gil Scott Heron and Brian Jackson’s ‘In The Bottle’ from 1974. Others are deliciously obscure wonderous gems like the A-side of Blackrock’s sole 1971 single ‘Blackrock “Yeah, Yeah”’, ‘Life Walked Out’ from the same year by the Mist or Syl Johnson’s ‘Black Balloons’ taken from his 1970 album “Is It Because I’m Black?”.

There are plenty of big vocal hitters such as Darrell Banks, Spinners, Joe Simon, O.C. Smith, the Dells and Betty Davis. Whilst the core is vocal soul the music does branch out with Paul selecting a wicked instrumental from the flipside of the Isley Brothers’ ‘Twist & Shout’ from 1962 and the funky jazz of the Headhunters ‘God Made Me Funky’, the A-side of their first 1975 seven-inch.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the release of John Lee Hooker's 'Boogie Chillen'. Recorded in Detroit in September 1948 by Bernard Besman - who had his own Sensation label - it was licensed to Modern Records in Los Angeles and released on 3rd November. The flip side was 'Sally May'.

To say that the single caught fire is an understatement. It is believed that 'Boogie Chillen'' shifted in the region of a million copies in 1949 placing Hooker on the map as a blues guitarist and singer of the first rank - where he stayed until his death in 2001.

The original was, of course, released as a 78rpm single. In 2020 we issued 'Boogie Chillen' with 'Boogie Chillen' #2 on the flip as a limited edition of 500 copies that played at 78rpm.

We now present 'Boogie Chillen'' and 'Boogie Chillen' #2' as a limited edition 7" single that plays at 45rpm. Despite being 75 years old, this classic recording still sounds so fresh and rhythmically propulsive it is hard to believe that you are listening to one man and his guitar playing live and stomping his feet in a room. Besman caught lightening as it flashed, just like Sam Philips did some years later with Elvis Presley in Sun Studios.

There are classics. There are stone cold classics. And there is 'Boogie Chillen''.

The heyday of American baroque pop – or chamber pop - ran from 1966 to the turn of the seventies. It used string quartets, harpsichords and woodwinds to create a summer-into-autumn melancholy that was quite new, and quite far removed from rock’n’roll as Eddie Cochran would have known it. Baroque pop’s musicians often came from a folk background, with an affinity for acoustic instrumentation. Linda Ronstadt's first band the Stone Poneys had introduced the autoharp to their line-ups in 1965, while the likes of Bonnie Dobson and Nico experimented with a string quartet’s, searching for different, post-electric Dylan directions.

• John Lee Hooker is not an artist who plays by the rules that govern what we generally accept as “traditional” blues music—he very rarely plays in 12-bar format when he performs his songs. On his most popular tune, ‘Boogie Chillen’, his lyrical and musical phrases last anywhere as short as nine or ten, or maybe fifteen or even nineteen measures long, depending on how long he wants to “boogie” on his guitar riffs that roll and tumble between his patented vocal phrases.

1952, lange bevor die Mods in ihren schicken Anzügen von John Lee Hookers ebenso gut geschnittenem Aussehen und seiner mitreißenden Musik angezogen wurden, hatte das britische Vogue-Label 'Hoogie Boogie' veröffentlicht, aufgenommen 1949, auf einer 78-rpm-Platte. Bluesmusik war damals etwas für Liebhaber, und die vier Titel auf dieser EP erinnern an diese frühesten Aufnahmen von John Lee Hooker. Drei Tracks dieser EP landeten 1949 in den Top 10 der US-R&B-Charts. John Lee Hooker pur, der zum Kern seines Blues und Boogie vordringt, nur Gitarre, Gesang und mit dem Fuß mitwippend. Diese EP ist in einem schönen, zeitgenössischem Sleeve untergebracht, die von Niall McCormack gezeichnet und gestaltet wurde.

Das von Percussion und Bläsern getragene 'Night Of The Wolf' wurde bei Northern Soul-Events in GB als auch in Brooklyn-Discos in den 1970er Jahren gespielt und war ursprünglich ein italienischer Progressive-Rock-Albumtitel. Es wurde 1975 als äußerst seltene US-45er unter dem Namen Al Foster Band herausgegeben und ist die erste offizielle Neuauflage. Der 70er-Jahre-Modern-Soul-Midtempo-Klassiker 'It's The Same Old Story' von ACT 1 wurde auch in den frühen Discos von New York, Chicago und LA gespielt, war aber immer nur ein Albumtitel. Dies ist die erste Veröffentlichung überhaupt als 7inch.

Das renommierte Soullabel Goldwax aus den 60er Jahren hatte ein straffes Release-Programm, dennoch blieben einige seiner Aufnahmen unvermeidlich auf der Strecke. Im Jahr 2000 kaufte Ace Records das Label und erlangte damit das volle Eigentum an den Bändern, was zu weiteren musikalischen Entdeckungen führte. Die Releases bei Ace und Kent in den letzten über zwanzig Jahren haben die meisten dieser Aufnahmen vor allem auf CDs gezeigt - dem Medium der frühen Jahre des 21. Jahrhunderts. In jüngster Zeit hat die wieder gestiegene Nachfrage nach Vinyl zu neuen 12"-Zusammenstellungen geführt, und als Ergänzung dazu hat Ace eine hübsche Box-Kollektion mit sieben 7inch-Singles zusammengestellt, die Soul-Sammler ansprechen wird.

Nach der Veröffentlichung von 'Mothership Connection' im Jahr 1975 wurde spekuliert, ob Parliament nochmal etwas ebenso Gutes liefern könnte. Kein Problem. Das bahnbrechende Album 'The Clones Of Dr Funkenstein' erschien 1976 und gehört zu den besten der P-Funk-Crew. Es erreichte in Amerika Goldstatus und # 20 in den Billboard-Album-Charts. Zu George Clintons cooler Crew gehörte u.a. Bootsy Collins (Bass). Die musikalischen Arrangements stammten von Keyboarder Bernie Worrell und dem ehemaligen James Brown-Bläser Fred Wesley. Zu den Studiobläsern gehörten die legendären Brecker Brothers.
Jeder Titel war ein Volltreffer, wobei 'Gamin' On Ya' und 'Children Of Production' vor musikalischer Elektrizität sprühten. 'Getten' To Know You' war sogar eine Art romantische Ballade. 'Everything Is On The One' war eine Zusammenfassung der aufgefrischten Groove-Philosophie von Parliament in einem einzigen Song. George Clinton spielte natürlich die Rolle des Dr. Funkenstein, der auf dem ikonischen Cover abgebildet ist. Natürlich auf Black Vinyl!

In der Hoffnung, Sun Konkurrenz zu machen, startete Meteor 1952 vielversprechend mit dem in Chicago aufgenommenen R&B-Hit 'I Believe' von Elmore James. Ein zweiter Hit, diesmal im Country-Bereich, 'Daydreamin' von Bud Deckelman Ende 1954, verlieh Meteor jedoch neues Leben und weckte Lesters Interesse an Aufnahmen von Rockabilly-Künstlern, insbesondere jetzt, da der Newcomer Elvis Presley bei Sun seinen Durchbruch hatte. Meteor's Studio war dazu da, seine Geheimnisse zu bewahren, und darin lag die Magie. Niemand wurde jemals bezahlt und niemand wurde zu einer zweiten Session eingeladen. Irgendwann im Sommer 1957 machte Lester Bihari das Licht aus, schloss ab und ging, ohne sich die Mühe zu machen, die Master und irgendwelche Unterlagen mitzunehmen, und machte das Label mit dieser letzten Drehung des Schlüssels zum Mythos. Die unfreiwillige Wahrheit von Meteor Rockabilly ist: Man ließ die Musik für sich selbst sprechen, ungeschönt und frei von kommerziellen Zwängen. Exquisit gemastert aus den besten verfügbaren Quellen und attraktiv verpackt, ist 'Bop Baby Bop - Meteor Rockabilly' ein wichtiges Zeugnis des Nachkriegs-Amerika. Auf Black Vinyl!

Jimmy Conwell ist ein großer Name in der Soulmusik von Los Angeles, sei es als Solosänger bei 4J, Gemini und Mirwood oder als Leadsänger der Exits bei Gemini und Kapp. 'Let It All Out' wurde gemeinsam mit seinen beiden Hauptproduzenten Len Jewell Smith und Hank Graham geschrieben. Eine atemberaubende Northern Soul-Ballade. Als B-Seite gibt es die großartige Ballade 'I'm So Glad' in der Version von The Exits.

Über diese beiden Mirwood floorfiller muss man nicht viel sagen, nur beide Tracks auf derselben 45er zu haben, ist ein wahrer Luxus. 'That Beatin' Rhythm' ist der Inbegriff der Northern Soul-Tanzszene und seit nunmehr 50 Jahren ein echter Hit. Die Instrumentalversion (die dem eigentlichen Sänger der A-Seite zugeschrieben wird) war damals ebenso populär, wurde in den letzten Jahren jedoch etwas vernachlässigt - die Gesangsversion wird von den meisten DJs gespielt.

Sechzehn Jahre sind zwar vergangen, seit Isaac Hayes im Alter von nur 65 Jahren viel zu früh verstarb, aber er bleibt einer der beliebtesten und kultigsten Singer/Songwriter/Arrangeure in der Geschichte der Soul-Musik. Die Alben, die Hayes für Stax' Enterprise-Label produzierte, bleiben der Maßstab in Sachen "Symphonic Soul" und klingen auch heute noch genauso atemberaubend brillant wie damals, als sie neu veröffentlicht wurden. Hayes gehörte nicht nur zu einer kleinen Gruppe von Künstlern, die das Wachstum des Soul-Album-Marktes ('Hot Buttered Soul') vorangetrieben haben, sondern war auch ein durchweg erfolgreicher Single-Künstler, der zwischen 1969 und 1976 sechzehn aufeinanderfolgende Singles in den R&B-Charts platzierte - die meisten davon schafften es auch in die Pop-Szene. Die größten Hits wurden bereits früher in Anthologien zusammengestellt, aber 'Hot Buttered Singles' ist die Compilation, die die A- und B-Seiten aller 45er von Hayes aus der "Yellow Stax"-Ära in chronologischer Reihenfolge und in ihren Original-Singleversionen präsentiert. Einige davon sind zuvor noch nie auf CD erschienen. Viele dieser famosen Soul-Tracks gehören zu seinen beliebtesten Aufnahmen, die auch das Soul- und Pop-Radio revolutionierten, darunter das mit Wah-Wah-Intro befeuerte 'Theme From Shaft', 'The Look Of Love', 'Never Can Say Goodbye', 'Walk On By' oder 'By The Time I Get To Phoenix' aus der Feder von Jimmy Webb.

Die Fortsetzung der Isaac Hayes' Single-Geschichte bis 1977 mit allen frühen Singles auf Ikes eigenem HBS-Label erscheint 2025.

Miss Louistines Version von 'Con Me' war einer der besten Deep Soul-Funde der letzten Jahre. Die sanfte Chicago-Interpretation der Paragons von Sam Dees' Komposition aus dem Jahr 1975 wird seit langem bewundert, aber diese Southern-Soul-Bearbeitung des mittlerweile zum Klassiker gewordenen Songs ist atemberaubend. Um diesen geheimen Song-Klassiker wirklich in den Mittelpunkt zu rücken, haben wir Sam Dees' eigene Version als B-Seite hinzugefügt. Auch diese blieb unveröffentlicht, bis Kent 1998 auf die Bänder zugegriffen hat und sie nun endlich auf Single erscheint.

Die einzige Spur von Kenneth Wright aus Atlanta sind eine Handvoll nicht aufgenommener Songtitel auf BMI, vertreten durch Awares Verlag Act One. Mindestens ein Dutzend seiner Aufnahmen wurden kürzlich in den Tonbandarchiven von Aware gefunden und 'The Souls Of Black Folks' ist die beste davon. Es enthält Kenneths Gesang und eine ebenso beeindruckende unbekannte weibliche Hauptrolle, die dem Projekt noch mehr Mysterium verleiht. Von derselben Quelle des Atlanta-Labels stammt Miss Louistines Interpretation des Sam Dees-Songs 'Extra, Extra'. Ursprünglich von Ben E. King als Albumtitel aufgenommen, war diese druckvollere Version auf einer kürzlich erschienenen 100 Club Anniversary 7inch zu hören und erfreut sich großer Nachfrage.

Bernadine oder Berna-Dean Washington nahm Anfang der 60er Jahre sieben Singles für den Produzenten Dave Bartholomew in New Orleans auf. Als Protegé von Earl King wurde ihre letzte Single 1964 auf dem Label GNP Crescendo in Los Angeles veröffentlicht und ähnelt stilistisch ihren früheren Imperial- und Post-45ern. 'Don't Try To Tell Me' und 'Laughing On The Outside' wurden für GNP aufgenommen. Beide Tracks sind in einem gefühlvolleren Stil und erregen viel Aufmerksamkeit in der aktuellen Retro-R&B-Szene.

Ace Records ist seit der Veröffentlichung diverser Vinyl-Compilations in den 1980er Jahren die erste Adresse für Sampler von US-Girlgroups aus den 1960er Jahren. Nach vielen CD-Serien ist die LP jedoch wieder als bevorzugtes Format für anspruchsvolle Sammler beliebt.
'A Good Thing Goin'!', die neueste in der aktuellen Ace-Serie wunderschön verpackter 12-Zöller, erscheint diesen Monat. Wie in der Serie üblich, enthält die schicke Innenhülle ein 3.000 Wörter langes, mit Bildern vollgepacktes Song By Song-Essay des langjährigen Compilers Mick Patrick.

Retro Soul entstand zu einem Zeitpunkt, als Soulmusik ihren Höhepunkt erreichte. Damals waren die Pioniere der 60er Jahre so weit gereift, dass sie die Erfahrungen des letzten Jahrzehnts nutzen konnten, um eine unglaubliche Fusion zu schaffen, die R&B, Gospel, Funk und Jazz mischte, sie mit anspruchsvollen Arrangements ausstattete, die es den Zuhörern ermöglichten, in ihrer Tiefe zu schwelgen und zu ihrem Beat zu tanzen. Die 12 Titel auf 'This Is Retro Soul' sind ein Einstieg in diese mythische Welt, die Bilder von Schlaghosen, Halston-Kleidern, Cadillacs und Frisuren mit Umfang von Raumhelmen heraufbeschwört. 'This Is The Breaks' ist ein 12-Track-Blick auf die Geschichte des Breaks - und es sind alles für immer großartige Jazz-, Funk- und Soul-Nummern. Ace hat nicht nur Tracks aufgenommen, die im ersten goldenen Zeitalter des Samplings gesampelt wurden, sondern auch Tracks, die von einigen der größten Namen von heute verwendet wurden. Der Vorhang öffnet sich mit Millie Jacksons Version von 'If Loving You Is Wrong I Don't Want To Be Right'. Einer der größten Produzenten des Hip-Hop ist DJ Premier von Gang Starr, dessen Beatpicking beispielhaft ist und dessen Art, wie er diese Beats verwendet. Seinen Einsatz von Joe Simons 'Drowning In The Sea Of Love', das er bearbeitete und manipulierte, um den Hook von Gang Starrs Single 'You Know My Steez' aus dem Jahr 1997 zu bilden. Während die Musik auf dieser Compilation gesampelt wurde, um brillante neue Songs zu komponieren, haben die Originale den Test der Zeit bestanden. Klassisch, schwarzes Vinyl!

Ace Records has been the go-to source of 1960s US girl group compilations since the release of our “Where The Girls Are”, “Girls About Town” and “Stop, Look & Listen” vinyl albums back in the 1980s. The 10-volume “Where The Girls Are” CD series followed over the next few decades, along with a batch of standalone CD collections. These days, however, the vinyl long-player is back in favour as the format of choice for discerning collectors.

This killer double-sider was one of the first US imports to go “big” on the rare soul scene at the Twisted Wheel and Blackpool Mecca in the early 70s.

• First issued on the Dot label in 1965, Karen Verros’ recording of ‘You Just Gotta Know My Mind’ is one of the most popular and in-demand tracks ever to appear on Ace Records’ “Girls With Guitars” compilation series. Pressings of the hopelessly rare original exist in two variants, one 20 or so seconds shorter than the other.

• This new Ace release features the longer of the two versions. ‘Karen’s Theme’ on the B-side is the ‘You Just Gotta Know My Mind’ backing track, with added freakbeat guitar in place of Karen’s vocal.

• An original copy, in the unlikely event one should become available for sale, is likely to carry a hefty asking price. Designed to resemble a small-run mid-60s acetate pressing, rather than a replica Dot label, this very welcome addition to Ace’s catalogue of 7-inch vinyl singles should set punters back about the cost of a bottle of cheap plonk.

We follow up Carolyn Crawford’s recent big selling Kent 45 ‘Get Up And Dance’ with another top class Mickey Stevenson production on ‘It Takes A Lotta Teardrops’.

• Eddie Singleton had a musical career in Los Angeles after his Shrine Records venture had bloomed then died. He cut this heart-felt soul ballad on an undocumented group called the Exclusive around 1969, but it was left on tape only until now.

• The mysterious and oddly named Soul Interiors recorded two terrific sides for Mickey Stevenson in 1972, ‘The Inside Guys’ - a sublime dancer and the deep soul harmony of ‘My Friend Heartaches’.

Released in 1981& the last in a decade-long run of Top 50 R&B albums, ‘The Electric Spanking Of War Babies’ was the band’s twelfth studio LP & featured several players new to the Funkadelic line-up, notably Sly Stone. With its allusions to the Vietnam War & US imperialism, George Clinton’s project was destined to court controversy from the start, not least for its uncompromising sleeve art which original label Warner Bros. censored. Described by Robert Christgau as “the solidest, weirdest chunk of P-Funk since one nation gathered under a groove” & originally conceived as a double LP, many tracks saw release on Clinton’s later P-Funk projects. Arguably, it is better for having been précised down to a single album while still spawning two hit singles, the title track (US R&B No. 60) & ‘Shockwaves’ (US R&B No.53). On 6 May 1997, Parliament / Funkadelic were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame by Prince. Die Compilation rückt nicht nur James Carr ins Rampenlicht, sondern auch seinen wichtigen Labelkollegen Spencer Wiggins oder die wunderschönen Harmonien der Ovations. Ace hat den Teppich ausgerollt, als es um die Neuauflage der Deluxe-Vinyl-Edition von The Seeds' gleichnamigem Debüt (HIQLP 129) sowie 'A Web Of Sound' (HIQLP 135) ging. Beide Alben enthalten nicht nur die Original Tracklistings, sondern auch eine zusätzliche LP mit Outtakes, alternativen Versionen und anderen Juwelen. -Ace freut sich nun, eine 2-LP-Deluxe-Edition des klassischen dritten Albums 'Future', anbieten zu können. Diese LP erschien ursprünglich 1967. Die erste LP präsentiert das Original-Stereo-Master von mit Titeln wie 'Out Of The Question', 'A Thousand Shadows' und 'Travel With Your Mind'. Die zweite LP enthält Bonustracks, alternative Takes und Mixe, die zeigen, dass der klassische Rock'n'Roll-Sound von Seeds unter den Overdubs genauso stark geblieben ist wie eh und je.
