Ein Erlebnis sind auch die Klavierfassungen von Purcells Musik aus der Oper "Fairy Queen". Nahezu meditativ klingen Stadtfelds Improvisationen über Themen von Bach (u.a. das berühmte "Air" und "Menuett"), über Werke von Arcangelo Corelli sowie über das Kirchenlied "Ach bleib mit Deiner Gnade". Aufgenommen wurden die insgesamt 45 Stücke mit einem modernen Steinway mit einem sehr nahen und warmen Klangbild, so dass sich die Farbenpracht und Intensität unmittelbar auf den Hörer überträgt. Es ist, als ob man vor einem farbenreichen barocken Gemälde stehen würde und dabei immer neue Farben entdeckt.

The Cure are to release the 1986 mix of Boys Don’t Cry, making it available digitally for the first time ever in line with its 40th Anniversary. Initially released as a standalone single in the summer of 1979, Boys Don’t Cry became the title track of the US edition of the band’s debut album, Three Imaginary Boys.



The song went on to become one of the band’s signature tracks and achieved international success in 1986, when Robert Smith re-recorded the vocal and remixed the backing track. Although this new version was created to promote the best of collection Staring At The Sea – The Singles, the LP itself featured the original recording, and the 7-inch version of Boys Don’t Cry (New Voice – New Mix), now retitled Boys Don’t Cry (86 Mix), is being released on vinyl for the first time in 40 years.

VERVE ACOUSTIC SOUNDS SERIE: komplett analog von Ryan K. Smith bei Sterling Sound von den
Originalbändern gemastert, QPR-Pressung (180 g), stabiles Tip-On-Gatefold (Stoughton Printing), wattierte Innenhülle.
“Africa/Brass”, im September 1961 veröffentlicht, war Coltranes erstes Album für das noch junge Label Impulse! Records. Das Werk markierte einen Wendepunkt in der Karriere des Saxofonisten und gilt laut dem
“AllMusic Guide to Jazz” als “Schlüsselwerk für das Verständnis des Weges, den John Coltrane in seiner
letzten Schaffensphase mit seiner Musik einschlug”. Für das im Studio von Rudy Van Gelder aufgenommene
und von Creed Taylor produzierte Album erweiterte Coltrane sein Quartett zu einem großen Ensemble mit
bis zu sechzehn Musikern. Coltranes leidenschaftliche, freie Improvisationen auf dem Tenor- und Sopransaxofon stehen dabei in reizvollem Kontrast zu dem kompakten, rhythmischen Sound des Blechbläser-lastigen
Orchesters unter der Leitung von Cal Massey. Die Arrangements für die Big Band wurden von Eric Dolphy
und McCoy Tyner erst während der Proben im Studio angefertigt

Als Global Kryner 2004 die erste CD präsentierte, stand die Musikwelt Kopf. Es war Liebe auf den ersten
Blick. Die Idee war genauso einfach wie genial: man nehme den legendären Oberkrainer-Sound eines Slavko
Avsenik, verschmelze ihn mit Welthits, nehme eine Prise Jazz und jede Menge Spielwitz dazu und fertig
ist die Rezeptur. Die Süddeutsche Zeitung machte Luftsprünge und fabulierte gar von einer „eierlegenden
Wollmilchsau“ in Sachen Musik. Und mit „verkrynern“ war obendrein ein neues Zeitwort geschaffen. Was
folgte war ein Ritt durch alle Radio- und TV-Formate, wie er selten gesehen wurde. Hunderte Konzerte in
Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz, Benelux, Frankreich, Italien, Slowenien, Kroatien, Serbien, Ukraine bis
nach Mexiko. Nach heißen und durchaus fordernden Jahren des Tourlebens verabschiedete sich die Band
2013 von der Bühne.
Doch die Liebe ist nie erloschen. Im Gegenteil. Jetzt kommt: Global Kryner „2nd Love“! Bereits
im Sommer 2024 beschlossen die Global Kryner rund um Musikkabarettisten und Klarinettisten Christof
Spörk und Oberkrainer-Akkordeon-Urgestein Anton Sauprügl, neu durchzustarten. Posaunist und NeoFischzüchter Martin Temmel musste nicht zweimal gefragt werden. Markus Pechmann, mittlerweile einer
der gefragtesten Jazztrompeter des Landes, engagierte mit Sängerin Miriam Kulmer ein veritables Stimmwunder. Neu zur Band gesellte sich außerdem „Mister Groove“, Jazzgitarrist und Liedermacher Andreas
Haidecker. Aber Obacht: es wird kein Abnudeln alter Hits geben. Die Band bereitet sich in akribischer Kleinarbeit auf ihr Comeback vor. Neue typische „Verkrynerungen“ müssen dabei sein, ja, natürlich!
Aber diesmal gibt es eben auch eigens komponierte Songs zu hören. Man darf gespannt sein. Alles mit
viel Liebe zubereitet, nur eben nicht zum ersten Mal, sondern quasi „2nd Love“!

Their career for more than four decades hasn't had interruptions. They haven't stopped composing, releasing albums or playing live.Their influence has marked many later artists, usually classified in the so-called industrial music or rhythm & noise, as well as artists from current techno and certain types of experimental noise music.

Amore Libero – Free Love marks the first film score composed by Fabio Frizzi, written in 1974 for the movie of the same name directed by Pier Ludovico Pavoni. Set against the exotic backdrop of the Seychelles, the film tells the story of Simo, a free-spirited young woman played by Laura Gemser in her cinematic debut, blending sensuality and the spirit of liberation so typical of the 1970s.

Frizzi’s score perfectly captures the film’s atmosphere, weaving together evocative melodies, funky grooves, and progressive textures — an elegant, psychedelic soundscape that reflects both the tropical setting and the film’s themes of freedom and desire. The recording features the Goblin in their classic line-up: Fabio Pignatelli (bass), Massimo Morante (guitar), Walter Martino (drums), and Claudio Simonetti (keyboards), with Vince Tempera handling arrangements and orchestral direction.

Long regarded as a true holy grail for collectors, now, for the first time ever, it is officially reissued on vinyl, bringing back to light a fundamental chapter in Italian film music and progressive sound. "Habe Brille" ist benannt nach einem Stück aus einer Operette von Jacques Offenbach und der Titel deutet schon an, wohin die musikalische Reise geht: Es wird ein weiter Bogen geschlagen von der Klassik (hier brilliert Wölfi mit einem a capella Solo über acht Oktaven), Big Band-Einspielungen bis zu düsteren technoiden Maschinenklängen, wobei das Hauptgewicht selbstverständlich auf solidem Punkrock liegt. Die Kassierer überraschen mit ihren virtuos eingespielten Liedern auch verwöhnte Ohren und strafen all die Lügen, die ihnen musikalische Kompetenz absprechen wollen. Leading outlet for forward-thinking Scandinavian jazz, April Records, proudly presents the new album from Malmö-based quintet People In Orbit. A followup to their critically acclaimed 2023 release Close/Away (Naxos Prophone), the group continues to explore Scandinavia"s jazz tradition through a contemporary lens, blending acoustic interplay with electronics and a focus on collective improvisation. Led by trumpeter and composer Adam Sass, People In Orbit were formed in late 2020 with the intention of reimagining the classic jazz quintet with a contemporary edge. The group prioritises space, interaction, and ensemble balance, allowing composed material and collective responsiveness to shape the music. Alongside Sass, the band features Edvin Ekman (tenor saxophone, effects), Niklas Bergström (piano, Moog, keyboards), Edvin Elmersson (double bass), and Frank William Reis (drums). Viewpoint is a concept-driven album centred on perspective; how different viewpoints influence the way events are interpreted, and how perspective can foster connection or distance. Much of the album is built around Cycles, a four-part suite composed from a graphic score, with each section representing a different human life and its relationship to the surrounding world. The album moves through shifting emotional and psychological states, from curiosity and tension to reflection and release. Perspective is explored not only through human experience, but also via non-human viewpoints - including music inspired by deep-ocean communication between whales and slow, drifting motion. Musically, Viewpoint continues People In Orbit"s blend of modern jazz-rock and electronics, while drawing influence from the Scandinavian jazz quintet tradition of the 1960s. The music balances structured composition with openness, allowing individual voices to exist within a clearly defined collective sound. Eine Sensation für Oscar-Peterson-Fans: ein unveröffentlichtes Konzert des Piano-Giganten mit seinem
Trio weltweit erstmals auf LP und CD!
Oscar Petersons Trio mit Bassist Ray Brown und Drummer Ed Thigpen gehörte zu den populärsten und
swingendsten Jazz-Formationen der 1960er Jahre. Besonders live waren die perfekt aufeinander eingespielten Musiker ein unschlagbares Team. Ein unveröffentlichtes Konzert aus der Glanzzeit des Trios entdeckte
Verve Records jetzt in seinem Bandarchiv: zwei Wochen begeisterten die Musiker im August 1960 das
Publikum in Baker’s Keyboard Lounge in Detroit. Die damals geplante Verve-Veröffentlichung des Konzertmitschnittes fand nicht statt und erfreut stattdessen jetzt, kurz nach Petersons 100 Geburtstag, seine
zahlreichen Fans.

April Records proudly presents the new album from Danish trombonist and composer Lis Wessberg. Her most personal album to date, In The Wake of Blue is a song-driven work exploring transience, love, and transformation. Expanding her writing while remaining rooted in her distinctive instrumental voice, Wessberg creates an intimate musical landscape where lyric, melody, and texture carry equal weight. Wessberg has established herself as a leading voice on the European jazz scene through her band Yellow Map and a series of acclaimed releases on April Records. Her previous album, Twain Walking (2024), marked her first step into English-language songwriting and earned a Danish Music Award nomination in 2025 for the track Behind the Walls. In The Wake of Blue develops this direction further. The album draws on images from nature - sea, tides, clouds, mist, and birds - used as emotional anchors rather than abstractions. These elements frame songs that move from uncertainty and loss toward openness, connection, and renewal. The title reflects this arc: "blue" as melancholy, depth, and memory, and what emerges in its wake. Vocalist Veronika Rud is central to the album"s sound, bringing vulnerability and clarity to the songs. Rather than a traditional singer-led project, the music unfolds as a dialogue between voice and trombone, with Wessberg"s warm, airy tone mirroring and extending each song"s emotional core. At times the two move in close unison; elsewhere, they diverge and reconnect. The core ensemble - Steen Rasmussen (piano and keys), Lennart Ginman (bass), and Jeppe Gram (drums) - provides a responsive, understated foundation, while string quartet Live Strings appear on two tracks, expanding the ensemble"s depth and resonce. In The Wake of Blue offers a quietly assured statement from an artist continuing to refine a voice that speaks as clearly through brass as it does through words.

Cigarettes After Sex return with a double single that showcases both their future and their past. The single featured on the B-side, “Anna Karenina,” is a quintessential Cigs track, sensual, slow-burning, and emotionally oversized, with lyrics so confessional they verge on too much. But its inclusion of spoken word verses adds a striking new dimension to Greg Gonzalez’s world, expanding the band’s intimate palette. Its chorus (“I cried at the end of Anna Karenina, when she threw herself under the train”) might be the most Cigarettes After Sex lyric ever written. The A-side is a long-rumored fan favorite finally seeing release: a gorgeously faithful cover of The Doors’ “The Crystal Ship,” recast in the band’s signature haze. Jim Morrison’s romantic fatalism never sounded more at home.

»Music for Shared Rooms« is B. Fleischmann’s eleventh solo album and his first since 2018. It is also not an album, or at least not in the conventional sense of the word. These 16 instrumental pieces provide a kaleidoscopic glimpse of a forward-thinking musician at home in many different musical worlds, including experimental and abstract music, pop and more classically-minded compositional forms. These pieces were culled from an archive of roughly 600 compositions for theatre pieces and films written throughout the past twelve years. The Österreichischer Filmpreis-awarded composer, however, aimed for more than simply documenting his extensive work in and with different media. To do so, he edited and re-mixed the individual recordings for this release, taking them out of their contexts and reworking them for an audience who can experience them in a different setting. »Music for Shared Rooms« makes it possible for its listeners to engage with the sounds and to fill the spaces they open up with their own imagination.

Roughly speaking, music for theatre or film can serve two functions: it either takes the lead, or underscores what is happening on stage or screen. The marvelous thing about these pieces is that they manage to do both. Fleischmann’s work as a prolific producer has always drawn on contrasts, at times combining pop sentiment with rigid experimentation, the seemingly naive with the intricate and complex. This approach also marks the tracks collected here: bringing together acoustic elements and electronic sounds, at times working with conventional structures but always de- and re-contextualising them, Fleischmann constructs a vivid dramaturgy out of discrete singular compositions, letting them interact across the record.

Take, for example, the opener »Träumerei« and the following »Brenne«: after the soothing acoustic sounds of the former, the latter quickly picks up speed with hard-hitting drum machine rhythms. It’s a stark contrast sonically and stylistically, however both tracks are tied together by a certain harmonic sensibility. This sort of dramaturgical interconnectedness of varied musical materials is the thread that runs through »Music for Shared Rooms«. A droney piece for string instruments like »Sehnsucht« is followed by a trip-hop beat, before »Schock« lives up to its title with skittering beats and piercing high frequencies. The differences between the pieces may be striking, but the progression from one to the other is subtle. It goes on like this through different moods and tempos. There’s soothing-yet-eerie piano pieces like the »Für Elise«-inspired »Der Lärmkrieg«, gentle house grooves, joyful synthesizer excursions and, finally, »Die Erde ist mir fremd geworden«, a collage of abstract textures and concrete sounds.

All these pieces create distinct situations through the juxtaposition of diverse musical elements, but are also bound together by a single vision. Writing music for theatre pieces or film requires a composer and his pieces to engage with people and their movements in space, which is exactly what Fleischmann offers on this record. He breaks down the fourth wall and invites his listeners into his world, a wide-ranging musical panorama. »Music for Shared Rooms« is indeed not an album in the conventional sense of the word, but more like a photo album in which each page opens up a new space to get lost in; recreates different scenes in which you can immerse yourself. These are shared rooms indeed.

Generic Flipper, the debut album by Flipper, remains the most absorbing full-length LP to emerge from the early San Francisco punk scene. A constant source of imitation for so-called "noise rock" bands, it has yet to be surpassed in its nihilistic glee.

Recorded between October 1980 and August 1981 and released in 1982 on the indispensable Subterranean Records, this album functions as a chaotic, sticky mass of individual personalities: the magma-like bass eruptions and dual vocals of Will Shatter and Bruce Loose, Ted Falconi's icy guitar scraping and the relentless beat of drummer Steve DePace. At times playful and taciturn, paranoid and absurd, Generic charts a deliberate path that willfully chances destruction.

In early '80s punk, when the hardening default was "faster-shorter-louder," Generic subverts the nascent hardcore scene with a strictly applied regimen of turgid-slower-heavier. The lyrics are bleak, yet unnervingly beautiful. "Ever" sets the tone with trademark restraint – "Ever wish the human race didn't exist? And then realize you're one too?" – while closer "Sex Bomb" is a churning, 8-minute epic with looping bass, saxophone accompaniment and electronic effects of dropping bombs.

Tons of indie bands have attempted to recreate Flipper's mix of acidic guitar, metallic bass sludge and sardonically brilliant lyricism, using the seemingly effortless template they pioneered; however, the effect usually drives listeners right back to Generic. While most of their contemporaries wilt under direct comparison, No Trend, the Butthole Surfers, feedtime and Church Police are a few who can stand the frigid heat.

sträflich unterbewerten Alben der Jazz Messengers bezeichnet, auf dem Blakey zu einem gefühlvolleren
Sound zurückkehrte.

The album features recent single ‘I Could Get Used To This’, hailed as her “ultimate entry into divahood” and the first track to fully capture the record’s assured, expansive spirit, carried by cascading strings and a sense of full-bodied release
