Under the alias 4E, producer Can Oral created his own unique sound of raw, futuristic acid-electro. The A-Side tracks "Ask Isadora" and "Conga Banana" first appeared on the album, Blue Note, released on Home Entertainment in 1996. On the flip are two unreleased tracks picked from his extensive archive and edited by FIT Siegel. These were also recorded during this era, which Can describes below:

"In the 90s I moved to NYC to start a band with Jimi Tenor. I had a small flat in the East Village with the apartment number 4E and that became my artist name for the downtempo and electro material I was working on. The style I called Futuristic Electro because I didn't want to relate to the old school with this. I had my studio on the kitchen floor and pretty much only used EMU SP-1200, TB-303, TR-808 and SH-101 by good ol’ Roland. In a way NYC was still developing because it was all about house music. In 1995, I opened Temple Records in Manhattan with Dr Walker from Air Liquide and DJ DB from Smile Communications. The record shop was inside the Liquid Sky clothing store. After a fire in the shop, along with a falling out with the owner I decided to talk to a fortune teller to find out what the future held. Her name was Isadora, and she had a TV show called "Ask Isadora." She told me on live television to move out, have my own shop and be independent, so I did. Thanks Isadora!"

4E used to be Khan’s apartment number in New York City’s East Village back in the late 90’s. 4E became the trademark sound for his downbeat acid infused electro work. On his kitchen floor he produced a very unique brand of futuristic funk tracks with only a ROLAND TB-303, SH-101 and the Hip-Hop fundamental SP1200 drum sampler.

Besides a couple of 12”s for Force Inc. Music and the “Gentle Killer E.P.” on Freddy Fresh’s Socket imprint, 4E released the highly acclaimed downbeat electro album “4E4ME4YOU” on German glitch label Mille Plateaux.

Back in 1998 4E shared the now legendary 12” with I-F “Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass” on the “From Beyond Series” by Ectomorph’s Interdimensional Transmissions.

“Pills & Thrills” on Temple Traxx is four previously unreleased acid-electro stomper that are as funky and noisy as it can get on an East Village kitchen floor.

Forgot 002 is the second release from London based record label Forgot. The compilation is comprised of four tracks by four different artists: Forgot residents Hoffy and Joe S both return, while newcomers Lavan and Cass Brooker also contribute.

Since its release campaign launched earlier this year, the Forgot 002 compilation has received a wealth of positive feedback from a number of revered and respected DJs such as Dom Servini, Asian Hawk, Jason Pulaski and Dr. Best.

Lex Walton (née Alex) is an American songwriter, actress, prose poet, and filmmaker whose work is unflinchingly confessional, and whose live performances are filled with ecstatic masochism and flailing. In addition to her catalog of a dozen or so mostly home-recorded albums, EPs, and singles, she has recorded collaborations with Devi McCallion (Black Dresses, Girls Rituals), Geese, and Ezra Furman, written the pop music manifesto The Sound Rocker's Prayer, and starred in Louise Weard's five-hour epic film Castration Movie Anthology II: The Best Of Both Worlds.

Violeta García & Hora Lunga return with 4ever, their second album and the follow-up to I’ll Wait For You In The Car Park. Released in 2025 on -ous, their debut received airplay on BBC and NTS and was selected for Bandcamp’s Best Experimental Music year-end list. 4ever picks up where that record left off: in ordinary moments, small scenes and the strange emotional weight of being somewhere between places. But here, these moments are stretched across a much larger, darker screen. A night flight, a terminal, a bad connection. When too many feelings are carried from one place to another, everyday situations begin to feel epic, empty, or apocalyptic.

Built from García’s cello and Hora Lunga’s synths, samples and field recordings, the album pushes further into emotion, letting fragile melodies, orchestral cello gestures, heavy low-end and compressed noise melt into something both dystopian and strangely familiar. Its warmth is not meant to be an escape from this world, but something that appears within it. Acoustically, the album lives through the closeness of the materials, the way sounds stay with each other, and in the feeling that even the most unstable moments are being carried together. The album presents itself in scenes that fade into each other: quiet melodic fragments that are interrupted and restarted, unpredictable changes of direction, held together by an inevitable melody, a bright synth harmony unfolding into an almost orchestral cello arrangement. Later, a broken organ-like sample turning in circles, cello melodies appearing as if they were trying to remember a song that never belonged to one voice alone. An endless loop that is placed under changing lights, briefly opening into emotional chords, then slipping back into emptiness.

It is this instability that Violeta García and Hora Lunga place at the center of their collaboration. They do not decorate the cello with production, or place electronics around an acoustic centre. They explain: “On 4ever, we become part of the same unstable surface. What holds the record together is not resolution, but the trust in staying together as things distort, overload, disappear and return.”

Violeta García, an Argentinian cellist known for her solo work and for her role in the punk band Blanco Teta, brings the instrument close to the body, as melody, pressure, texture, noise and sudden emotional weight. García has brought her distinct musical voice to KEXP, Rewire, Le Guess Who?, Bad Bonn Kilbi, Silent Green, TransMusicales, Roskilde and more.

Hora Lunga, a Zurich-based producer and composer working across unstable song forms, treats electronics less as a frame than as a weather system: something that can hold a scene together, distort it or make it disappear. In recent years, his compositions have ranged from experimental song forms, sound performances, ensemble compositions and film music. His ensemble WIRREN consists of up to fifteen performers.

Das neue EUROTEURO Album "Magic" stellt eine musikalische Neuorientierung dar, bewegt sich zwischen New Wave, Art Pop und Neuer Deutscher Welle. Deutsch hingegen eignet sich im Euroteuro Kosmos besser für klare Aussagen, direkte Botschaften, Slogans der Subversion. Nach ihren bisherigen "Volume"-Veröffentlichungen, die eher als Singles-Collections fungierten, steht "Magic" als das erste geschlossene Album da. Entstanden in einem gemeinsamen Prozess, an dem Musiker*innen wie Alexander Kranabetter, Topsy Turvy, Katarina Maria Trenk, Soap&Skin, Farce, Voodoo Jürgens und Elisa Mory beteiligt sind. Magic ist ein Nachtalbum. Es führt an einen inneren Ort, der sich im Laufe der Songs verändert. Am Anfang steht ein eher karger Raum, ein Ich, das sich umsieht und eine Bestandsaufnahme macht. Mit der Zeit wandelt sich dieser Raum, wird dichter, vielschichtiger. Der Hedonismus ist Draußen. Die Verweigerung von Selbstoptimierung auch. Euroteuro wird 10 und im Zentrum steht die Frage warum wir sterben müssen und was dann sein wird. Der Blick ist nach innen gerichtet. Iker is back with "Sinkronia". A gripping takes on Eastern and Western minimalist traditions influenced by the likes of Steve Reich, Suso Saiz or Midori Takada. Transcendental and esoteric rhythmic wonders that take time to unfold. A young percussionist and guitar player with electronic interests displaying a rich sonority and a great sense of structure and arrangements. This record shows the refinement of Iker's attributes, who initially worked in the noise/punk scene and now is part of the local Free Jazz/Improv landscape of San Sebastian, although he currently lives in New York where he has been playing several gigs including a rendition of Glenn Branca's Symphony No.13 at Lincoln center with 100 guitarists. For this new album he uses Xylophone, hand drums, electric guitar, synths and percussion instruments that guide us in an energetic way to territories somewhere between Italian avant-garde, Japanese New Age and American Minimalism. Iker Munduate Thusberg is a Basque multi-instrumentalist born and raised in San Sebastian and with strong ties to Mikkeli in Finland, where half of his family are from. A fine arts student at Bilbao's UPV (Basque university), his interest in sound, art and design has led him to combine all these different disciplines and convey them into his music and his work. Clear/Blue marbled Vinyl. Irgendwo zwischen altem Seemannsgarn, dichtem Zigarettendunst und tiefsitzender emotionaler Zwiespältigkeit haben Romans Nailed It ihren ganz eigenen, dreckigen akustischen Cocktail gemixt. Das Singer-Songwriter-Punk-Duo startete 2022 und veröffentlicht nun sein Debütalbum "In Need of Romance Intervention_". In den Texten geht es um den ungeschönten Alltag, das Jonglieren mit den eigenen Baustellen und die ewige Suche nach einem Funken Sinn - irgendwo zwischen emotionalem Chaos, Rückschlägen und dem Drang, trotzdem jeden Tag aufs Neue aufzustehen und weiterzumachen.

STANDING ON THE CORNER wurde 2015 in Brooklyn, New York, gegründet und zählt zu den spannendsten Kollektiven der zeitgenössischen Musik. Die Gruppe verbindet Einflüsse aus Soul, Punk, Salsa, Doo-Wop, Jazz, Funk, Avantgarde und Rap zu einem unverwechselbaren Sound, der die kulturellen Verbindungen zwischen den USA, Puerto Rico und Afrika widerspiegelt. Ihr Debütalbum ,Angel So Bad" ist eine zarte, staubige Erkundung all der Gefühle, die durch die Maschen fallen. Beeinflusst von Künstlern wie Gillian Welch, Lucinda Williams und kanadischen Singer-Songwritern der frühen 2000er geht es bei dem Projekt weniger um das Genre als vielmehr um das Gefühl. Akustikgitarren, mit Besen gespielte Drums, Pedal Steel und gelegentlich klirrendes Klavier untermalen Texte, die wie Tagebucheinträge wirken, ohne bekenntnishaft zu sein: Sie fangen den Schmerz des Älterwerdens ein, das seltsame Gefühl, immer noch mehr zu wollen, und die Freude, in der Stimme eines anderen ein Zuhause zu finden. Diese Songs haben eine Lässigkeit, die bewusst wirkt. Während Sams Solowerke eher filmisch und atmosphärisch sind und Haleys eher clever und orchestral, treffen sie sich hier in der Mitte: warm, minimalistisch und ein bisschen rau an den Kanten. "Mighty Vertebrate" is the International Anthem debut from Anna Butterss (2024). The Adelaide-born bassist/composer has been a first call for LA tour and studio work since relocating there in 2014 - racking up credits with notables across the experimental, jazz, and pop worlds alike - but their most notable contributions to the burgeoning LA scene have been as a member of both Jeff Parker"s ETA IVtet and rising proto-trance supergroup SML, who Pitchfork says "represents the thrilling next phase of a vibrant L.A. community."

Als wir zuletzt von Marci (alias Marta Cikojevic von der Soft-Rock-Band TOPS aus Montreal) hörten, tanzte sie auf ihrem 2022 erschienenen Album ,Marci" den Schmerz weg. Vier Jahre später kehrt Cikojevic mit ,Mask Lady and Late Night Girl" zurück - einem Album voller Hymnen für Partygirls für die Zeit, wenn die Party vorbei ist, vorgetragen mit Liebe und Mitgefühl für die guten Zeiten und die schönen Erinnerungen. Erneut in Zusammenarbeit mit ihrem TOPS-Bandkollegen David Carriere entstanden, enthält ,Mask Lady" Elemente, die sowohl von den chaotischen Pop-Girls der Y2K-Ära wie Uffie und Kesha als auch von Cikojevics Liebe zu Powerballaden-Sängern der 80er wie White Snake und Def Leppard inspiriert sind, zusammen mit den Vintage-Synthesizern, die ,Marci" eine warm-futuristische Ästhetik verliehen. Glam-Metal-Einflüsse treten bei ,Chaotic Princess" in den Vordergrund, geschrieben und produziert mit Mike Silver (CFCF), einem über-die-Spitzen-gehenden, gitarrenlastigen Knaller über eine verrückte Nacht, in der Cikojevic einen Polizisten anfleht, sie nicht ins Gefängnis zu bringen - Eddie Van Halen auf dem Beifahrersitz, Britney am Steuer.

Mit ihrem neuen Album Nine setzt das aus Chicago stammende Post-Metal-Trio Russian Circles seine bedächtige Weiterentwicklung und disziplinierte Verfeinerung fort. Dabei besinnen sie sich auf ihre Stärken und erweitern zugleich die Grenzen ihres Klangspektrums. Dies ist eine Band ohne Radio-Hits. Es gibt keinen Konsens unter Fans darüber, welches ihr bestes Album ist. Geometrik Records is delighted to once again play a part in the exclusive recovery of Marcelo Expósito's previously unpublished work, which had been lost since its original creation in the 1980s. Marcelo Expósito is one of Spain's most internationally renowned contemporary artists, whose work is regularly exhibited across Europe and Latin America. He began his career at a very young age during the era of sound experimentation that flourished in the wake of so-called industrial culture, which found particularly fertile ground in Spain. As co-editor of legendary publications such as the fanzine Experiencias (1983) and, above all, the cassette-fanzine publisher Necronomicón (1983-1987), which operated on an international scale, Marcelo Expósito has, in recent years, been reconstructing those of his sound experiments that had been lost for decades. The album we are now presenting brings together material previously released on cassettes as EGK023 in a very limited edition. These tracks have now been remastered and expanded to complete this record, which noise musician Mattin has described as "secret recordings that constitute a gem from the rich Spanish underground of the 1980s". In the words of Luis Alvarado, editor of the Peruvian label Buh Records, this album allows us to appreciate how "Expósito developed a style of his own that understood sound as a malleable material open to chance. The recordings gathered on The Lost Tapes reveal an artist who moves as much through territories of unsettling textures and atmospheres as through zones of abstraction and radical noise". Influenced by the early work of figures such as Maurizio Bianchi, Nurse With Wound, and La Otra Cara de un Jardín, the release of this album provides a key piece in reconstructing the genealogical puzzle of Spanish experimental music. This carefully curated edition-in Spanish and English-includes a lengthy essay by Marcelo Expósito on the creative processes behind his work and the historical context of the industrial culture of the 1970s and 1980s, as well as extensive liner notes contributed by Vittore Baroni, editor of the legendary Italian label Trax; Francisco Felipe, co-founder of the Ars Sonora programme on Radio Clásica (Radio Nacional de España) and one of the most active names on the Spanish experimental scene of the 1980s; Mattin and Susana López (Susan Drone), key figures in the sound experimentation of the generation that emerged in the 2000s; as well as the aforementioned Luis Alvarado.

Through 4EVER, he pays tribute to those without whom nothing would exist: loved ones, those who have passed, love itself, and this life, which must be lived as fully as possible. Music remains the universal language, and 4EVER is a kind of Buvette DNA, one he invites you to incorporate into your own.

This album, recorded in 1988 at Elkar Studios in Lasarte, is a happy accident, like much of La Polla Records' early output, by Jean Phocas (who also worked with other bands of the genre such as Cicatriz) and César Ibarretxe. It was lovingly designed, with a medieval atmosphere for the cover (by Txefo, Joseba Olalde and Txarly) featuring a huge scroll containing five tarot cards, a back cover in the same style with heraldic figures, and a meticulous presentation of the lyrics with separate spellings for each song, on a double sheet with photos of piglets suckling from their mother on one side and various images on the other. With animals as the common thread for the songs, it represents the confirmation that the concept album had arrived on the national punk scene. Perhaps a work of maturity, the band's traditional objectives disappear from the lyrics, and although there is still room for specific protests and chronicles of nights of alcohol and violence (such as those of La Rata), the emphasis is on revelling in the description of all kinds of personal, psychotic and hallucinatory hells. Evaristo confessed to being influenced by Umberto Eco's book The Name of the Rose (1980) in the making of this work. Far from indicating any departure from the foundations laid in previous works, it shows that the spectrum of the anti-establishment struggle the group was committed to was broad. A very complete album.

According to the court ruling in the lawsuit brought against the band, allegedly by a former technician, this album should have been released under a different name for the group. Perhaps as a provocative nod, the individual who appears on the cover wearing a nut as an oppressive turban is struck on the back cover by the hammers of Justice and the Law. However, the group ignores this and continues to sign as it has been doing since 1983. The musical arrangements are more powerful, with the guitars taking precedence over the rest much more than before. The drums are also more present. The soundscape takes centre stage, even over the lyrics. The opening track, 'Monopoly', is representative of this, with its fast-paced rhythm provided by galloping guitars. Originally released in 1994, it is surprising how, almost ten years after their debut, La Polla Records were still capable of making albums of such intensity.
