American hard rock band Alcatrazz once featured legendary musicians like singer Graham Bonnet as well as guitarists Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai. With their current line-up of guitarist Joe Stump, keyboard player Jimmy Waldo, bassist Gary Shea, drummer Mark Benquechea and new singer Giles Lavery, Alcatrazz re-recorded nine songs of their back catalogue. In addition to well-known numbers like “Hiroshima Mon Amour”, “Island In The Sun” and their biggest hit “God Blessed Video”, »Prior Convictions« also features two brand-new numbers, “Transylvanian Requiem” and “Stand And Wait Your Turn”. The release embodies how Alcatrazz sound today. Brannten Schnüre is an experimental dark folk group out of Würzburg, Germany. Christian Schoppik composed and played all the music, Katie Rich whispers, recites and sings. Together they make astoundingly beautiful folk with a rich instrumentation leaning towards the atonal spectrum. Instrumental wanderings stand alongside Nico-esque poetry tales. Christian plays the accordeon and in some songs guitar and flute. Inspired by hierophants like Nový Svet and David Jackman, solemn song fragments (a lot of old greek rembetiko-recordings) are modified and looped, with additional instruments and voices being integrated later on. Their music has been described as 'surreal folkcollage' and 'german hauntology'.

With the emergence of Schoppik's second project, a dada cabaret called Agnes Beil in 2010, Brannten Schnüre moved closer to the song structures of its frivolous sibling. The songs of Schoppik's latest creation Sommer im Pfirsichhain are further accompanied by a female singing voice, lending the pieces the voluptuous quality of a stickily tense midsummer. Sommer Im Pfirsichhain (Summer In The Peachgrove) is the second part of a quartet of releases. The first being Aprilnacht which got released on Sic Sic Tapes last year. Part three Geträumt hab' ich vom Martinszug and part four will follow later.

Reference points are bands like Winter Family and Twinsistermoon. Music etched on folkloric, ritual elements transferred into the 21th century. Also worth mentioning is the hand-drawn artwork which is made by artist Gwénola Carrère.

Newly signed to EMI Records, seven-piece boyband December 10 are ushering in a new era in pop music. Formed on camera during Netflix’s Simon Cowell: The Next Act (released globally on 10 December 2025), the hugely fun, utterly joyful, incredibly charismatic, often rambunctious and completely endearing group consist of Cruz (20), Danny (17), Hendrik (19), John (17), Josh (17), Nicolas (17) and Seán (19).

Within weeks of the series airing, the pace was relentless. December 10 sold out their Introducing! run of live dates across the UK and Ireland, adding extra shows twice in response to demand before all 13 dates sold out within minutes; built a huge online following, with millions of followers across social media; and released their debut single “Run My Way” on 30 January 2026.

Since then, the band have released the singles “Infinity (123)” and “Angel”, landed in the Official UK Top 10 best-selling vinyl singles of 2026 so far, and made their festival debut at Ultra Teens Fest Japan, performing to a crowd of more than 12,000 fans.

Summer 2026 will see December 10 embark on their headline UK and European tour, December 10: The Next Step, (which kicks off in Amsterdam on 26 June and wraps up in Dublin on 21 July,) release their debut EP, On Your Side, on 10 July, and make appearances at Summer Sonic Festival in Japan and Reading & Leeds Festival in the UK.

They’re not just brilliant singers, but accomplished musicians too, playing 14 instruments between them: Nicolas plays guitar and harmonica; Danny plays guitar; Josh plays guitar, cajón and drums; Hendrik plays guitar, bass and piano; Seán plays guitar, piano and harmonica; while John was due to take Grade 8 clarinet and piano this year - until life got a bit busy.

He ran his own label Bestattungsinstitut and published loads of releases ranging from experimental to ebm, electro, to ambient spread all over the world's tape labels from 1985 to 1993. Since 2001, Fricke has operated primarily under the alias Pharmakustik. His collaborations included notable ones with legends of electronic and industrial music such as Conrad Schnitzler and Mauricio Bianchi.

Das Album erscheint als Doppel-LP auf schwarzem Vinyl, als Doppel-LP auf klarem Vinyl sowie als Doppel-CD. Außerdem wird diese Veröffentlichung damit zum ersten Mal überhaupt auf Vinyl gepresst. Complete B Sides versammelt alle B-Seiten aus der klassischen 4AD-Ära der Band und enthält einige der besten "anderen" Songs der Pixies, darunter "Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf)", "Into The White" und "The Thing". Ursprünglich 2001 auf CD veröffentlicht, als sich die Band bereits seit fast einem Jahrzehnt in einer Pause befand, enthielt Complete B Sides: 1988-97 alle 19 Nicht-Single-Tracks aus der unglaublichen Reihe von Singles, die die Band zwischen 1988 und 1991 veröffentlichte. Discotchari unveils a full deadstock run of this rare 7 inch from 1970, found in original factory boxes and reissued as the first release of the label. It features previously unheard material from oud virtuoso John Bilezikjian and percussionist Raja Zahr, a Burbank via Beirut collaboration. The record will be available on vinyl and digital platforms from November 3rd, 2023.

Recorded under the name Something Different, the duo produced a single 45 RPM that was shelved as their solo careers took off. At just 21, Bilezikjian handles oud, bass and harpsichord, while Zahr delivers rich and inventive percussion.

Side A, Zulu Man, blends late 60s psychedelia with a more experimental edge, closer to underground acts than mainstream rock of the era. Carried by evocative vocals and expressive oud lines, the track unfolds like an epic narrative.

Side B, Chemical Reaction, is harder to define, moving between cinematic moods and rhythmic tension. The track evokes shifting landscapes and contrasting atmospheres, making it as intriguing as it is unpredictable on a dancefloor.

Bob Dylan... Das ist wohl DER Singer-Songwriter überhaupt und gilt als einer der einflussreichsten Musiker des 20. Jahrhunderts...

Die LP ‚The Early Recordings‘ präsentiert eine perfekte Sammlung von Bob Dylans schönsten Songs aus jüngeren Jahren. Mit dabei sind Klassiker wie „House Of The Risin‘ Sun“, „Baby, Let Me Follow You Down“, „You‘re No Good“ und eben besagtes „Man Of Constant Sorrow“.

Gradual Isolation started in the early 90s as the musical project of 2 friends, Luc Van Den Bosch and Filip Van Breda, both living in Turnhout, Belgium.

They were inspired by EBM and new wave from the 80s and 90s and saw bands such as the Canadian Psyche as their great examples. With just a few synthesizers, a drum machine and a homemade microphone, they made music that could be described as emotional, and somewhat naive bedroom new wave. If the term emo-wave doesn't exist yet, it should be invented to describe Gradual Isolation's music.

Over the years, many tapes have been filled with their improvisations and about 20 to 30 songs have been more or less completed. They never officially released their music, only a handful of handmade cassette tapes were distributed to friends. They did not go further than a single performance in the local new wave bar ‘The Cave’ in Turnhout in 1991, but the duo stayed together and continues to make music to this day.

‘The Sky Converts’ and ‘Agony By Men’ appeared on Underground Wave Volume 7, and now, for the first time, a full-length LP ‘Remaining Faces’ has been released on Walhalla Records!

Bill Withers was a modest, gentle, and yet towering musical figure responsible for some of the most important, universally known soul hits ever written. It’s no wonder that “Just the Two of Us” and “Ain’t No Sunshine” won him two Grammy awards and undoubtedly played a huge role in getting him inducted into both the Songwriters and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Live at Carnegie Hall is Withers' only live album, recorded on October 6, 1973 but not released until April 21, 1973. The fact that Bill got to play his heartfelt and honest soul at one of the most prestigious venues for both classical and pop music speaks volumes: his first two records Just As I Am and Still Bill were really that influential.

Bill Withers' Live At Carnegie Hall was recorded more than 50 years ago on a rainy Friday evening, but it is still regarded as one of the best live performances in the history of Soul music. Withers appears on stage with an ensemble of only the best session musicians the 1970s had to offer: Melvin Dunlap, Ray Jackson, James Gadson, Benorce Blackmon, and Bobbye Hall, at the time one of the few female session percussionists. They all had worked together on Still Bill and had the knack for expanding Bill's intimate songs to fit a hall of that size and stature. And as far as the recording goes, no corners were cut; it really feels like you're up there with them.

The set features evergreens such as "Ain't No Sunshine", "Lean On Me", "Grandma's Hands", but also tunes that are only available as part of this live set, such as "World Keeps Going Around" and "I Can't Write Left-Handed".

Bill Withers Live at Carnegie Hall is available as a limited edition of 5000 individually numbered copies on magenta vinyl, and includes printed inner sleeves and a 4-page booklet featuring liner notes on Bill Withers written by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and reflections by Aloe Blacc.

A legendary group of entertainers who dominated the nightlife of Las Vegas in the late 1950s and 1960s, The Rat Pack blended music, film, and comedy with effortless charisma and style. Its principal figures - Frank Sinatra , Dean Martin , and Sammy Davis Jr. - were widely regarded as the group's leaders. They not only headlined the shows but also supplied much of the music that defined their performances, embodying the spirit of swing and sophistication through their exceptional on-stage and studio chemistry. This special gatefold edition LP brings together 21 outstanding performances, and includes the only two studio duets they ever recorded for release as singles; 'Sam's Song' (Sammy Davis Jr. & Dean Martin) and 'Me And My Shadow' (Frank Sinatra & Sammy Davis Jr.)

After years of delays and a very public, bitter dispute with Victory Records, Streetlight finally delivered their follow-up to Somewhere in the Between in 2013. ROCK JUSTICE is a new hard rock/metal act featuring singer Maggy Luyten (Ayreon, Beautiful Sin, The Prize, ex-Nightmare) and guitarist Bas Maas (Doro, After Forever).

The upcoming debut album, You’ve Been Served, is the result of Bas Maas’s long-held dream. He teamed up with Maggy Luyten to shape the powerful, driving sound of ROCK JUSTICE. The album blends varied song styles, tied together by a nostalgic vibe and well-crafted production.

“The idea came to life when I was still playing in After Forever, where I didn’t get a serious chance to contribute to the songwriting. I had written a couple of songs that didn’t make the cut and realized that if I wanted to get my own music out there, I’d have to do it myself, or at least with other people,” says Bas. When he decided to form a band, he had two rules: he wouldn’t sing himself, and it wouldn’t be a female singer. Finding the right guy proved impossible and after several try-outs, one name kept coming up: Maggy Luyten. “Mag’s voice completely blew me away. I thought, ‘This chick sings like a dude and she delivers.’ Not long after that, we met at an Ayreon album presentation in Utrecht. She wanted to hear my songs to see if they inspired her. They did.” The rest is history. Maggy recalls with a smile: “When Bas came over to hear what I’d worked on, we both knew we had something. I still picture him driving back home: window down, our demo blasting, arm out, metal horns up, huge smile!”

Sky Blue Opaque Vinyl. Eine Ambient-Symphonie aus ätherischem Verfall, die zum Klassiker des 21. Jahrhunderts avanciert ist. Aufgenommen zu Hause im Jahr 1992 mit einer 12-saitigen Gitarre, einem 4-Spur-Recorder, einem Loop-Pedal, unendlichem Hall und dem strukturierten Gurren der rätselhaften Sängerin Melissa Arpin Duimstra verwandelte Scott Cortez' Projekt ,loveliescrushing" postadoleszentes Tagträumen im Schlafzimmer in ein ruhiges, mondbeschienenes Gleiten auf einem endlosen Meer. Diese erweiterte und remasterte Doppelalbum-Edition enthält fünf weitere, von Verzerrung geprägte Reflexionen aus dem Archiv, zusammen mit Texten und einer Nachbildung einer Postkarte, in denen man sich unterwegs verlieren kann. This solo percussion work was recorded in 1980 and released in 1981 by Masahiko Togashi, one of Japan’s leading percussionists and drummers. After becoming partially paralyzed, he created this recording of a world of sound using drums, bells, gongs, and a wide variety of percussion instruments, together with his own original playing methods and techniques.

Deaf Center member Otto A Totland’s 2014 debut LP, an intricate work for solo piano.

Otto A Totland's modern compositional elements are most widely recognized as half of the Norwegian duo Deaf Center, where his melancholic, intricate piano work provides haunting relief to the beds of noise and deep strings from Erik K Skodvin. Pinô is the first full-length release by Totland, though his solo work has been released once, as the 5-minute A-side of Sonic Pieces 7inch Harmony From the Past. Otto's previously brief vignettes are now expanded into a fully personal realization of his own style.

Initial track Open fills itself with heavy, knowing pauses that quickly become overwhelmed with the desire to understand what's to come. Each silence leads into quick flutters of keys, preparing the listener for a vast terrain of giddy beauty, bleak depths, and true contentedness. Pinô quickly recalls deep winter; in front of a fireplace for days on end, you lose how far along you've ventured into the 18 tracks without any idea how far is left to go. The experience feels inevitable, with no other option but to curl up somewhere cozy and appreciate the sense of timelessness that Totland has created. His album is a haunting modern compositional treasure, expressed through instrumentals completely unique to Totland and captured masterfully by Nils Frahm at Durton Studios.

With Pinô, Otto A Totland appears out of the Norwegian landscape, sharing an achievement that will provide a relief during the brooding winter darkness. Though a highly personal endeavor, the recognizable continuation of Totland’s compositions will attract fans of Deaf Center, and the cinematic and classical components of his solo work will hold sway for those familiar with Harold Budd or Dustin O’Halloran.

Originally released in 2008 on Ezekiel Honig’s own Anticipate Recordings, Surfaces of a Broken Marching Band finds the artist refining a compositional language rooted in the methodologies of musique concrete, ambient, and beat research. Working from a palette of environmental recordings, instrumental fragments, and soft electronic treatments, Honig pushes the source material into an array of sympathetic forms ranging from pillow-soft, lowercase ambient to diffuse downtempo and minimal house. For its reissue on Keplar, the album has been remastered by Kassian Troyer (D&M), bringing a new clarity to its intricate, low-lit architectures.

Throughout the record, serving almost as audiographic guideposts, are faint but insistent gestures toward propulsion, an abiding and recurrent 4/4 pulse that guides the music laterally and instantiates a slow negotiation between its various elements. This music invites close listening precisely by not revealing itself all at once, allowing small collisions of timbre and subtle shifts in emphasis to carry the weight. The traces of lived environments that remain embedded in the mix - distant crowds, sounds of transit, the indistinct acoustics of interiors in flux - expand the frame without breaking its intimacy, creating a potent dislocation between the nearness of the sound and the scale of its sources.

Rather than foregrounding any single voice, this is music that distributes attention equally across its materials, allowing background details to assert their presence as much as melody or rhythm. Honig presents listeners with an astute practice that’s concerned less with building from the ground up than with uncovering what happens when disparate textures and structures are brought into close contact with one another. Dennis Brown has always been cited as Jamaica's favourite singer.
While Bob Marley set out to conquer the world, Dennis's popularity on the island grew with every year.
His most prolific period is said to be with producer Niney the Observer,who led the singer down a more Roots avenue.He put Dennis on some of his heaviest rhythms.
Throwing also into the pot the fact that these rhythms were also to be mixed by the Dubmaster himself King Tubby we are bound to get one of the best Dub albums around.
Here is where the Crown Prince of Reggae Meets Niney the Observer at King Tubbys.
It's from this period that we have focused on and it's these tracks that were taken to King Tubby's studio to produce this stunning album.

John Ringhofer, der Mann hinter Half-Canded Cloud, ist ebenso fröhlich und genügsam wie seine Musik. Als sparsamer Mensch zieht Ringhofer die U-Bahn dem Taxi vor, recycelt Plastik, macht sich zwanghaft Notizen und ist ein geborener Optimist. Half-Canded Cloud begann 1999 als Heimstudio-Projekt in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Ringhofer lebte später über ein Jahrzehnt lang in der kalifornischen Bay Area (wo er als Teilzeit-Hausmeister arbeitete), bevor er 2015 mit seiner jungen Familie nach Helsinki, Finnland, zog, um die linguistische Forschung seiner Frau zu unterstützen. Half-Canded Cloud versteht es, komplexe theologische Konzepte in eingängige und erhabene Kinderlieder zu verpacken, die sich weder ihrem Thema noch ihrem Zuhörer herablassend nähern.

Rough Trade Records veröffentlicht eine remasterte Doppel-Vinyl-Neuausgabe von Love Is Overtaking Me. Die Sammlung vereint Folk-, Pop- und Country-Songs von Arthur Russell, darunter "Planted a Thought", "Close My Eyes" und "I Couldn"t Say It to Your Face". Die ursprüngliche Ausgabe erschien 2007. Für die neue Edition wurden frisch entdeckte Originalbänder verwendet und von Timothy Stollenwerk in Portland neu gemastert. Ergänzt wird das Release durch überarbeitetes Artwork von Molly Smith sowie ausführliche Linernotes von Tom Lee. Seit über zwanzig Jahren macht Audika Russells vielseitiges Werk zugänglich und hat maßgeblich dazu beigetragen, ihm posthum ein größeres Publikum zu erschließen. Heute gilt er als visionärer Künstler und Einfluss für viele zeitgenössische Musiker. Schon zu Lebzeiten arbeiteten zahlreiche Künstler mit ihm, darunter Produzent John Hammond. Auf dem Album finden sich außerdem Aufnahmen mit The Flying Hearts sowie Projekten wie The Sailboats, Turbo Sporty und Bright & Early. Aus über acht Stunden Material zusammengestellt, umfasst das Album Aufnahmen von 1973 bis 1991. Einige Stücke sind auch im Film Wild Combination: A Portrait of Arthur Russell von Matt Wolf zu hören.

Kill Your Idols' debut release, This Is Just the Beginning, compiles their early recordings, including the original Kill Your Idols 12". The album captures the band's raw intensity and DIY ethos, solidifying their place in the late '90s New York hardcore scene. This record became a blueprint for their no-frills, high-speed hardcore sound that would influence countless bands.
